Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA May 24, 2009 On tap at the brewery in Vista. Pours a hazy yellow-orange body with a thin, creamy white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a soft lacing. Aroma is spicy, yeast, and has lots of rich, bready malts. Some honey, candi sugar, and somewhat sour apple-melon. Flavor is similar in the rich, bready malts, but has more of a noticeable spicy hop bite. Sweet Belgian yeast fruitiness, crisp honey, and some zesty spicing. Finishes dry with a malty and soft hoppy bitterness. Palate is light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid trippel. I like the extra spicy hop taste and rich malts. Slighty different than most, which was nice. 0o9i (326), Reno, Nevada, USA May 24, 2009 Bomber. The hazy, orange-hued body of straw sparkles, topped with a small, tenacious head that leaves some lace. The aroma smells sweetly of light and dark fruits, molasses (huh?), musk, a light touch of honey and some faint spiciness. This beer is medium-bodied with plentiful, pleasant carbonation that diminishes 3/4 through the pint for a definitively watery-but-fine finish. The flavor is fruity like white wine--slightly sour, dark fruits, a light spiciness, pleasant esters, honey, alcoholic warmth, citrus and a very subtle, spicy-hop finish with some woodiness and a touch of roastiness--long-lasting and dry. Very drinkable, yet unconventional. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA May 10, 2009 Really interesting in that it has a lot of west coast pale ale characteristics, but is also full bodied enough and has a complex Belgian yeast to make it unlike most beers out there.
Sampled at 2009 LA Craft Beer Fest. yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA May 10, 2009 Poured luminous golden color in my chalice with white head. Nose was fairy rich with boozy sour apples. On the palate there was soft malt and an herbal quality that mingled with the sour apple fruityness. Overall, very boozy and fatiguing to drink. tokyogoat (505), San Diego, California, USA May 3, 2009 Poured into a tulip glass.
Golden orange with a small head after a vigorous pour.
Smells of tree fruits and wild yeast.
Tastes good. Flavor profile jumps around with the beer’s temp.
Its definitely an americanized trippel. Kind of dry, nice light green apple yeast back end, surprisingly light on hops as I read it is dry hopped.
Extremely drinkable. the high ABV is hidden extremely well.
If you like american Trippels, try this one.
harbuck76 (127), El Cajon, California, USA Apr 30, 2009 22 oz. Pours a golden orange small white head. Aroma is honey ,malt, fruit
a decent version of a belgian trippel . jonno (542), Brisbane, Australia Apr 26, 2009 What a great nose this has. Lots of spices and sugars. When you get past that its a pretty decent tripel, which isn’t really a style I go gaga over agillespie81 (190), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 22, 2009 Deep, hazy golden color...head is a little thin, though with nice lacing. Very spicy, fresh aroma. Sweet front, with pretty noticeable spice notes, and a few hints of fruit...crisp mouthfeel. Back also has the lingering taste of fruit mixed in with a mellow hop base not typical of the style. Finish is somewhat mild. A nice brew, though quite unusual...it’s similar to a traditional tripel fused with a bold pilsener.
