Retorp (2155), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 11, 2006 Courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Thanks, Dave.
Body is a golden orange and holds a thumb thick lasting white head.
Aroma is sweet white fruit, yeast and a massive (for the style) hop presence. Some light herbal and dried black tea notes as well.
Fore is again sweet white fruit, black tea, lotsa hops and fairly noticeable alcohol. It’s clearly got the hallmarks of a Belgian beer, but it’s so hoppy it’s distracting. It’s not satisfying as a hoppy beer or as a Belgian ale.
xpimptastikx (27), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 10, 2008 Pours a hazy copper with a white head. Highly carbonated with an everlasting ring of foam and no lacing. Smells like bananas and oranges. Full body tasting of bananas with a spicy hint. Reminds me of a Tripel Karmeliet, but cheaper. Green flash has been good to me so far. Pours yellow, hazy thick, highly aromatic with a white head. Fruity, tastes like banana, cotton candy. Fantastic. The more I try these Green Flash beers, the more I love them !!
Great stuff ucusty (1217), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 30, 2008 2007 Vintage. Thanks to Hellbilly for this one! Cloudy copper pour with fluffy white head. Fruity nose. Full bodied. Notes of grain, candy sugar, citrus, and alcohol. VitaminR (281), Colorado, USA Sep 16, 2008 Spicy fruity nose with candied roses. Dense foamy head, great lacing, brilliant orangey/amber color. Peppery sweetness, some banana, and enough bitterness to balance it. Body is full and has a frothy mouthfeel. The finish is the key, all the flavors explode then slowly drowned into a smooth alcohol burn. A bit more aggressive than expected, but a very tasty beer. RollinHard (543), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Sep 14, 2008 Pours a coppery burnt orange, cloudy with a lasting moderate white head. Aroma is blend of Belgian tripel and IPA, but not as pungent as either. aroma of citrus, earthy grain, hay, flowers, uncooked bread dough, and spruce. Tastes of doughy malt, hay, grass, earth, tangy yeast, flowery hops and vague citrus. Finishes mainly with the pungent yeast flavor but more citrus hops, grass and earth than most tripels finish with. The yeast seems cleaner, however which I don’t prefer. Medium bodied and soft carbonation make this easily drinkable for me. Decent beer that I’d drink again.
