Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

22 ounce bottle, 2007, courtesy of ucusty. Thanks! Pours a hazy butterscotch color with a large head, medium head retention and lacing. Sweet aroma of candi sugar and fruity notes. Taste is sweet, with candi sugar, cotton candy, caramel and stone fruits leading into a bitter hop finish. Full bodied. Nice.

This golden bodied brewski smells just like lemon bottled tea in the skinnier glasses, smells more like sweet malt in the fatter Duvel glasses. Doughy sweet malt. Not a lot of hops.

Tasted at Green Flash. Golden amber with fluffy white head. Hefeweizen-like banana aroma. Taste of banana, mixed fruit, and spice. Pretty damn good.

Bottle courtesy of SS: Poured a deep golden/orangey color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of spicy yeast, light peaches and some sweet malt. Taste is also dominated by some spicy notes with some refreshing peachy taste and some quite big and sweet malt notes. Great carbonation with a medium to full body and some light alcoholic notes. Very well done overall and something I wouldn’t mind trying again.

Poured a fairly clear/filtered golden color, decent head on top, but not overly done, not top of the style. The aroma was apples, bananas, yeast. The flavor was pretty nice, exceeded my expectations for an American tripel, bananas, strong yeast, little hop bite to keep things honest, was a great beer after running a few Franziskaners. Mouthfeel was the greatest knock, pretty light, maybe deceptively light and watery for the style. A nice job by a brewer I didn’t think was gonna produce.

Pours with a deep golden body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet but bitter and spicy with notes of yeast and banana. Medium to full bodied and slightly dry.

Pours a lightly hazy, golden tangerine color. A dense, spongy, cream colored head shows great retention, leaving thick, broken rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is nice, showing notes of candy sugar and pale malts in the base. White grapes, candied lemon peels, and hints of nectarine add fruity depth, while spicy, floral hops and bready, estery yeast lend a distinctly Belgian feel. Flavors show the same elements, with the addition of bitter, spicy coriander and more alcohol. Big, sugary, and hot on the tongue, the mouthfeel leaves alot to be desired, finishing somewhat sticky and alcoholic. Long story short, it looks pretty and the nose shows promise, but the rest of the brew doesn’t really deliver. Another decent but lackluster tripel.
