Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

Pours copper w/ a full, creamy froth. Very Belgian. Aromas of malted banana spice. Full nectar w/ ample, mellow residual effers creating an almost oily texture. Very nice. Rich and malty w/ a moderate sweetness. Generous flavors of thick malted banana, gum, pears, vanilla, red licorice, and caramel apple. All this finshed off w/ a delicate asprin bittering that really hangs in there along w/ the sweet fruit meat. Overall: a true Belgian expression from CA. This brew is a meal unto itself. Watch out Piraat! Connoissuers choice. Highly recommended. ***Anniversary 3 scores 4.6*** Pours pale honey w/ a shallow creamy froth. Aroma of angle food cake, cinnamon, and malted medicine. Medium to full nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors of cake bread, banana, Christmas spices, and slight medicine. A complex, well balanced brew. The alcohol is hidden until it warms, then you get it n the finish. Highly recommended.

Bottle, The pour is orange colored. Aroma of citrus and some hop along with an overpowering smell of spice mainly clove, very good aroma. The taste is spicy with slight citrus. As it warms it becomes more creamy. I think this is very underrated at an 80. I would definitely buy again. This is one of the best abbeys I have had.

Bomber of the 2005 Anniversary Trippel. Pours a cloudy amber color. Thin white head with smallish bubbles. Not a whole lot of nose to this beer. I can smell the malt and the alcohol. It smells alot like it tastes, but it tastes better than it smells, so ha ha. I love the taste of this beer. It is one of my favorite examples of a Belgian style. Palate is smooth with a little tingle and a lingering finish. Like I said this is one of my favorites. It is much more crisp than your average beer with a cork. A SoCal twist on a Belgian style.

How wonderful. Birght golden color with a huge fluffy mountain of a head. Honey, pineapple, banana, and allspice in the aroma. Flavor is extremely sweet and fruity with no trace of alcohol. Makes me feel good about myself.

Aroma is hoppy with bold yeast scents. Color is a hazy golden with gold carbonation and a thin tight head. Taste is fruity and hoppy. Starting with a medium body it goes down rich. Finish comes in fruity with banana tones and a hint of dried fruit, then a mild hop flavor and easy bitterness. After taste is clean after the fruit tones build up a bit and become a little sweeter. This is an excellent American Trippel, its complex and fruity.

Meets expectations for the Trippel style, though apparently it’s Belgium proper that produces St. Bernie’s 12 and other mightiest examples of the style. But this is delicious. Smooth and creamy as it’s supposed to be. By meeting basic expectations for this most delicious of styles, it gets a 4.1..
