COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: If you had the 8.1% abv version marketed since 2014 as a Double India Pale Ale, this is the wrong beer page. Please rate under Green Flash West Coast IPA (2014 -).

This West Coast-Style India Pale Ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied and copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include Simcoe for a unique fruitiness and grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, Centennial for pine and citrus notes, and Cascade for floral aroma.

From Bottle Shop, drank at home. Amber with minimal white watery head. Smells of malt and icy hop, piney and lightly musty. Tastes very West Coast IPA, deeply bitter piney hop with a bit of malt and a crisp slick body. Nothing too special - I feel like I've tasted many iterations of this beer before - but very good nonetheless.

Bottle from Bottle Shop at home. Translucent copper pour. Bit cloudy - maybe not that fresh. Aroma is spicy citrus and pine hops. Taste is similar - big and very hoppy bitter at first. Lasting bitterness. Not bad but had higher expectations - maybe an older bottle.

19th March 2014, sat in the sun on the terrace of San Diego’s Fish Market Bar. Decent if a little citrusy IPA. Poured an orange hued amber with an off-white covering. Mixed hop nose with the aforementioned citrus notes leading the way. Bitter taste with a citrus bite, the malts taking a back seat throughout. Very typical of many beers I drank while in Southern California to be honest.

Not a big head. Good taste. Similar to pale ale. I would definitely order this again. Perfect with dinner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Found a bar that still had bottles of this baby after I rated the "new" version last week on tap. Quaffable, pine, ctirus notes with moderate amount of backbone, really enjoyable from start to resiny bitter finish. So much better than the new version, I will truly miss this beer.

Liian hoppinen mun makuun. Hienostunut maku, mutta liikaa humalaa. Tämä kai pitäisi olla jotenkin legendaarinen.

33cl. Pours hazy, dark orange with a moderate but fast diminishing white head. Aroma is fresh with strong fruity hops notes, citrus, sweet floral. Flavor is heavy bitter with a long duration, with notes of hops, grass and caramel. Moderate bitter aftertaste.

On tap. Amber with offwhite head. Good lacing. Incredible aroma - mango and grapefruit. Very bitter taste with a touch of sweetness in the finish. Body and carbonation right on for the style. Very nice ipa.

Floral, pine hop aroma. Copper color with a white head with good head retention. Bitterness is high in the flavor with notes of pine and grapefruit. Caramel and toast flavors are present. Mouthfeel is medium with a medium high carbonation. The hop bitterness dries the mouth on the end. Overall, it's a decent ipa, but I don't really care for the hop combination. Too much resin. Also, the caramel competes with the hop flavor and doesn't allow it to shine bright. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from bomber. Cloudy amber color with cream colored head. Malty fruity aroma. First taste is metalic. Underlying malt flavor with slight sweetness. Then a big citrus grapefruit flavor and bitterness. Finish leaves you with a dry lingering bitterness.
