(This is the new recipe for West Coast IPA, now an Imperial IPA)

As craft beer pioneers, we embarked on an expedition to brew the benchmark West Coast IPA. We ventured into the unknown and struck gold, discovering a tantalizing menagerie of hops. Simcoe for tropical and grapefruit zest, Columbus for hop pungency, Centennial for pine notes, Citra for citrus zest, and Cascade for floral aroma are layered throughout the brewing process. West Coast IPA exemplifies the Green Flash spirit of adventure and discovery.

Dark amber color, huge nose of pine and dank hops. Super bitter. Definitely a west coast ipa. Delicious.

This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent golden orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and malty. The sharp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong hoppy aftertaste. The sharp flavor contained notes of Cascade hops toffee caramel and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Nice golden orange pour, white head. Aroma is citrus, floral and hops. Taste is citrus and hops. Malts help tone it down. Clean smooth feel. Very good iipa.

Really enjoyed this beer. Normally not a big fan of higher alcohol IPA, but this had a smooth crisp taste.

Pours cloudy amber. Aroma has a lot of hops, fruity and floral. Taste is hoppy, and you can tell is a strong beer. Full body.

2/23/15. Bomber. Rating this as a DIPA, I'm not too impressed. Pours and tastes like a solid IPA, but doesn't offer what I want to see in a Double. Hops over-run the alcohol and doesn't let the bitters round and spread. Serious bitter interest but a thin mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Crystal-clear ruby-orange with a thick head. Smell is subtle; tropical fruit, grass, warm grain. Taste is warm, dry, complex, hoppy, lots of citrus, pine and grass notes. Good body, bitter finish.

This is probably old but I hope note. burnt orange 3 finger off white head. This is a pretty resinous west coast style beer. taste is a lot of burnt malts, a bit of cheese, some intense orange peel and pine cone finish. will re-rate next time I’m in California.

Looks like an IPA in Beast Mode with that rich copper colour and it sure smells like it. There’s tons of pine with a rock solid malt background, and it’s really smooth and sticky at the same time. A powerful beer
