COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(This is the new recipe for West Coast IPA, now an Imperial IPA)

If you are drinking this one in Europe, chances are you should be rating under this entry:

As craft beer pioneers, we embarked on an expedition to brew the benchmark West Coast IPA. We ventured into the unknown and struck gold, discovering a tantalizing menagerie of hops. Simcoe for tropical and grapefruit zest, Columbus for hop pungency, Centennial for pine notes, Citra for citrus zest, and Cascade for floral aroma are layered throughout the brewing process. West Coast IPA exemplifies the Green Flash spirit of adventure and discovery.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2014 Aroma is citrus, floral and vaguely boozy. Flavor is bigger includes citrus, pine, resin, tea and pear. Malt back is barely there but fits just fine. All in all I prefer this to the original single and find it worthy of its roots.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

750 ml bottle (I think...1 pt 6 oz) poured at Browners house. Pours cloudy orange with beige head that retained nicely. Smells like San Diego! Citrus like grapefruit and orange. Taste like hops and citrus. Just awesome. I miss San Diego.

Butelka. Aromat cytrusów, chmielu, trochę piach. W smaku goryczka wysoka, z lekką słodową kontrą. Ogólnie dobre ale szkoda, że nie świeże

Great aroma of fresh citrus, grass/hay, and malt sweetness. Very clean. Looks stunning, perfect dark golden color with a small off white tuft of foam. Tastes hoppy but not overly bitter with a good malt presence. The aftertaste has only a slight bitterness that fades away quickly. Average palate. Overall this is a good and easy to find IPA that could really become a go to for me.

Small bottle from Bottle Jockey in Burnaby. A dark orange amber beer with generous beige head and faint nose. Delicious grapefruit citrus hops with plenty of malt for balance. A lingering bitter aftertaste. Nice! 4

Copper color with a long lasting off-white head. Intense piney, tropical aroma. Complex hop character with a nicely balanced malt backbone.

1 Pt 6 fl oz bottleUnclear bright orange in the glass, one finge light beige head. Very fruity on the nose, some hop. Taste starts with a strong hopy bitterness, malty, pine, resin, but also smooth. Some fruity sweetness in the background. Very nice stuff.
