COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: If you had the 8.1% abv version marketed since 2014 as a Double India Pale Ale, this is the wrong beer page. Please rate under Green Flash West Coast IPA (2014 -).

This West Coast-Style India Pale Ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied and copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include Simcoe for a unique fruitiness and grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, Centennial for pine and citrus notes, and Cascade for floral aroma.

Ho hum not my fav IPA. Poured a golden color lacing was average. Aroma was typical for style except no malt balance really. Flavor was resinous hops and floral was thin, almost wattery just another IPA.

Hazy orange with a medium head. Fair lacing. Aroma of pineapple and grapefruit with a bit of oily resin. Makes you feel like Sylvester when he eats some alum, and his mouth puckers up so much that he is forced to try to eat Tweety through a straw. In other words, I loved it.

Tap. Very nicel floral aroams. Great flavors of citrus, flowers and pine. Offset by a bit of malts. Very nice West Caost style IPA, medium bodied almost creamy.

The aroma promises a symphony of hops, as does the prominent hop lace upon pouring. The viscosity suggests the malt strength/alcohol content. The hop flavors deliver on the aroma’s promise, producing a hop synergy second to no other. The sweet abundant pale malt could not rival the hop presence, which really lingers in the finish. Move over Stone, you have some real competition in the IPA department!

Deep gold, with a white head. Aroma is citrusy hops, sugar, and malt. Flavor is hops, fruit, sugar, and malt. Ends bitter.

Slightly cloudy light copper color with a thick white head that leaves behind a good deal of lacing. Crisp floral/grassy hop aroma. Medium-bodied palate. Nice lingering hop finish with some dryness. Good malt character to back up as well.

Tried at Green Flash’s tasting room with my friend Joel from work. A good beer, but an average IPA.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2008 like chewin on a sugar coated pine cone. (yes i know). super hoppy and really too sweet. out of balance but strangely drinkable6/4/6/3/13 is equal to 3.2

re-rate on tap @ papago... hazed brownish gold with a foamy white head and rings of pillowy lacing. aromas of pine, citrus and grapefruit pith stand out in front of grainy sweetness. the flavor is caramel-y grain sweetness... sugar added as a last ditch effort to balance it out and make sense of it?.... tastes like a sugary pine cone mixed with the bitterness from grapefruit. it’s certainly hoppy... it’s sweet and bitter but not necessarily dry. that’s what makes it weird for me... 8/4/6/3/13 is equal to 3.4

very good beer. Nice dry hop flavor. Strong in every respect...& you have to respect that. If you like hops you’ll lov ethis. This beer isn’t very well balanced though, but for a hophead......balance is not a real issue
