Pours a medium bronze, towards amber but with yellow tints too. Nice head stay around, well carbonated but not out of hand. Intensely pine and grapefruit, this is an in your face smack. A bit of tropical flavor, with melon and some metallic hop flavors. Trying to detect any semblance of bready, sourdoughy malt is an exercise in suggestion. Insanely drinkable, better than I supposed and a little heftier. Aroma is fabulous but the flavor can get a little numbing - it is an assault! I like this beer. patrick767 (2058), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2009 bottle - Drank side-by-side with a Victory Hop Devil. This one pours very hazy copper with a one finger head. It has an excellent pine hop aroma with a touch of citrus. The flavor is even bigger hops with tasty citrus and pine notes. It’s medium bodied and leaves a long, bitter finish. Very good. It’s hard to pick a winner between this beer and the Victory. The Green Flash has more complex hops flavors, but I think the Victory has better balance. tlind2 (605), Helsinki, Finland

Strong aroma with hops, syrupy malts and alcohol. Very hoppy flavor with tobacco and lingonberries, dry finish. Full body, medium carbonation. Seems like this should be rightly called a double IPA: it really packs a punch, especially in terms of hop bitterness. scrizzz (1352), kirkland, Washington, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Pours an amber with a slight haze with a decent tan head leaving slight lacing... Very floral aroma of citrus/pine with a creamy quality... Taste is dry, not the citrus hop punch i was expecting, quite piney, intensely hoppy... Medium bodied with a dry lingering finish... I would have liked the grapefruit/citrus aroma to translate to the flavor a bit more... BillKismet (1962), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Of an appealing luminous ginger-amber color with an adequate head. Increasingly pungent ripples of hops waft off the glass top. As advertised, this beer is strongly characterized by grapefruit and citrus aromas and flavors atop a thin layer of crystal accented malts. Tasty raw hop bite. Strong bitterness that the palate can mostly handle. Only a slight, detracting, astringent metallic ping. One of thankfully many outstanding West Coast IPA’s nbutler11 (779), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2008 Pours a nice caramel color from the tap at Papago with a creamy head. Looks, smells, and tastes like a standard IPA, which ends up being the problem. Very average and unambitious, which seems to be the calling card of Green Flash.
