Looks, smells, and tastes like a standard IPA, which ends up being the problem. Very average and unambitious, which seems to be the calling card of Green Flash. fidelis83 (734), Clinton, Iowa, USA

Aroma is Great on the citrus, pine and floral trinity. There are also notes of burnt sugar, caramel, dry maple wood, and a hint of toffee. Flavor is pretty big on pine, citrus is a little more subdued with some floral hops. The hops are very well balanced and really pull off a great general hop flavor rather than being really strong on grapefruit, or pine, etc. That being said there is still a very high hop complexity level much fruitier than most. I even notice a neat cranberry like taste that is really interesting. The malt notes are there and very good, toffee, milk caramel, grain, and a little date nut bread, however they are definitely overshadowed by the by the fantastic hop carnival. The finish is very clean, the toffee notes follow the mor citric hop notes to floral hops and a burnt sugar aftertaste. The body is actually a little thinner than the flavor profile suggests. It is moderately sticky, pretty sweet, and warmer than I would expect from 7%abv. Overall this is probably one of the best IPAs around. afireinside96 (842), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Pours a hazy amber color topped by a lasting off-white head. Nose of pine, tangerine, grapefruit, and caramel. Deeply bitter, the flavors include notes of pine and grapefruit. Loads of hop flavor. The finish lasts seemingly forever. Some lacing but not a ton. This may be the "hoppiest" regular IPA that I have had, though I wish it had just a tad of balance. Very good though. homeslice (36), , California, USA

Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head and lots of lacing. The aroma is powerful citrus hops, some bitterness. Very fresh and nice. The taste is super smooth, loads of citrus hops, some pine, and a light bitterness. An excellent IPA. I wish this was locally available. mrant (330), New York, USA
