On draft at Flanny’s. Slight plum on the aroma with typical ESB bitterness and slight alfalfa. Pours a fairly clear, light golden amber. Light plum and lavender early on the taste before moderate piney bitterness and wood tones take over. Plums and ESB seemed like an odd pairing before I ordered the beer, and tasting it doesn’t change my opinion much. The dark fruit tones never really mesh well with the bitterness.

Cask conditioned at The Fat Cat, Norwich. Amber with no head. Sweet, fruity beer, yes, plums are the dominant flavour but the sweetness is a little overbearing.

Cask - The Kings Head, Norwich. Poured a clear mid brown colour with a medium sized frothy & lasting off-white head that left a heavy lace. Plummy aromas with some yeast & mid fruitiness. Similar on the palate, just a touch of spice & sweet maltiness. Medium body, soft & rounded palate texture & a softish fruity malt finish.
