The Gone Fishing E.S.B.or “gone missing” as they call it in our pub, is a strong, deep amber coloured Ale, fruity and malty very drinkable for it’s strength. A very popular brew in the Triangle Tavern.

From q cask at the Linen Hall in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, Came in the glass a light orange with an off-white head. Nose of tropical fruit. Medium body. Very smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is lightly bitter with some fruit and the finish is bitter. Very nice.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 27 August. Poured a clear copper colour, with a dense white head. Aroma of malt, dried fruit and caramel. Fruity flavours, with some apples, berries and grainy notes. Finish was toffee, some bitter resinous hop and straw. Passable.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell at 5.5% ABV. Golden amber with a loose cream head; nutty, malty aroma; sweet, earthy, malty, biscuity taste; with some orange fruit; and a length crisp citrus finish. A good ESB.

Gravity pour at Beer Rebellion, Gipsy Hill. Pours an orangy amber colour. Malty aroma - not much going on. Medium body, mild carbonation. Sweet, with caramel and marmalade, a little woodsy and a touch sticky. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Notably underrated, I found this to be very enjoyable. Mildly bitter & slightly sweet, very easy to drink.

tap @ novare, portland. clear amber-orange with a small white head, some retention. biscuity toasted malts, hint of caramel, earthy and spicy, peppery, nice fruitiness, bit of nuts too. prickly carbonation - bit disturbing, light body, nice dry and crisp herbal-spicy finish. just what i wanted with my diner. maybe it’s circumstantial.. but this stuff seems underrated imhmfo.

On tap @ Bert’s Bar. Pours amber with a decent head. The nose is quite sweet, probably honey and malt. The taste is more honey and malt with a caramel finish. The palate is medium bodied with a good texture but unfortunately the finish is too sweet and therefore it’s slightly unbalanced. Overall, so, so!
