Cask at The Speaker, London. Pours clear brown with a fluffy, off-white head. Some roasty tobacco in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with baking cocoa, charred malts and mild dirt, which provides some bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mildly dry to finish, with chalky roast and cocoa. A solid, low-octane stout.

Thanks Sev for buying this bottle for my birthday. Pours a very dark ruby brown colour with a fair light tan head. A hoppy pine aroma before chocolate, roasty malt and coffee come through. Similar flavours. Very drinkable with decent bitterness. A nice roasty linger with moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel.

Tasting at Papsø’s
Brown color with red hue; almost no head. The aroma is very yeasty, baker’s yeast, and some roasted malts. Some dark malts and chocolate flavor, with some astringency and moderate residual sweetness, some yeast too. Easy.

75cl poptop from some shop in Aldeburgh. Does the needful for a yeast-laden modern British stout, without setting the world on fire by its finesse. A bit self-consciously "real ale in a bottle". Too harsh bitterness or too soft a body, or both.
