75cl poptop from some shop in Aldeburgh. Does the needful for a yeast-laden modern British stout, without setting the world on fire by its finesse. A bit self-consciously "real ale in a bottle". Too harsh bitterness or too soft a body, or both.

Cask (gravity) - Norwich Beer Festival 2011. Poured a dark brown colour with a mostly lasting though loose & fine beige head on top. Milky chocolate aromas with hints of berries & vanilla. Chocolate, slightly roasted, hints of coffee with leather & yeast tones. Starts off fairly bitter & dark becoming increasingly more lactic on the tongue. Medium-ish body, soft & smooth mouthfeel, medium length bitterness with a nice dryness.
