Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Amber to copper with slight white head. Quite a malty, grainy bitter, just a touch on the sourish side. Some lightly perfumed hop notes, but this is dominated by the malt.

Cask conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton. An amber coloured beer with a whitish head. A dull bitter with yeasty flavours. Light fruit. Pretty plain. Uninteresting although it may have been on the way out.

Sept, 2010. Southampton Arms, on the Welcome Pub Crawl. Standard drinking beer. Juicy and refreshing. Low hops. Nice.

Mid-amber bitter with fluffy white head. Slightly soapy bramley apple aroma gentle carbonation with caramel sweetness, malt middle and a slight metallic bitterness at the finish.

On Cask at Cloisters. Pours a deep orange colour with a red tinge. White head that drops to a fine lacing. Aroma of toffee and caramel. Caramel and toffee flavours also with alcohol fairly present. A little cloying with lingering bitterness and alcohol hum.

Bottle 500ml.
Clear light to medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, toasted - caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, malt sweet. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20110617]

Bottled.
Sweet malt, some nuts, toffee. Flowery hops, but not enough to balance, it lands firmly on the malty sweet side.

Bottled. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some earth and mild nutty notes. Flavour is fruits, nectar, mild sweet malts as well as some slight wooden notes.

Cask gravity, The City Arms, Cardiff. Dusty bronze with a thin bubbled halo. Bag of overripe fruit aroma awash with strawberry, red apple, redcurrant... Decent fruity taste builds on that with dried apricot, more red apple, oak. Bittering finish with a slightly tannic, drying mouthfeel. Late vanilla and peanut husk. Interesting.
