Draft at the brewery, 6/27. I’m wondering if this is the same beer, since it hasn’t been rated in almost 2 years. The board and waiter just said "wheat." Anyway, it wasn’t very good.

still big sweet orange flavor with a touch of coriander, still big and tasty, big for a wit but that’s why I like it

Darught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy, dark golden color. Thin white head. Typical coriander and subtle orange aroma. Flavor is similar, but there is also a distinct yeasty, bread-dough note.

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2006 draught. Pours with a superior cloudiness that makes the light golden hue nearly opaque. The aroma is floral, bready, and lightly spiced. This wit packs plenty of banana and is accented with cloves and mild nutmeg and mildly sour notes. Great thirst quencher (especially after walking around in the sun downtown) without being boring. // (Sept 24, ’06) = I had this again on my most recent trip to Asheville. It was not at all like I remembered, nor as my above notes show. This pour was not cloudy at all, and the banana taste was very subdued. More hay and water was in the forefront. This particular glass was nowhere near as good as my last experience. I will not dock any points just yet. Maybe I had a fluke this time.

Pours a hazy orange-gold with very little head. The aroma is the characteristic spicy banana of the Belgian Wheat style (which, by the way, I’m still getting used to smelling in a beer). Medium to full body, with a lively palate. This beer starts out sweet and ends with a nice bitter and the wheat character peeking through. The sweetness is something akin to the way *really* good marijuana smells. I’m wondering if this comes from the hops, which I was surprised to learn the other day are in the same plant family, "cannabaceae." So, now that you’ve had your botany lesson for the week...
