This richly flavored, full-bodied bitter is copper colored, with a slight fruity aroma and a balanced malt/hop character. Fuggles and Kent Goldings hops are used for a dry finish.

Pours deep amber with a thin white head. Aroma is a bit of citrus zest, honey, and a little bit of hops. Taste is pretty well balanced. Lightly toasted malts, a hint of sweetness, and a little bit of bitterness from the hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and on the lighter side. Might be slightly under-carbonated but overall has a good feel on the palate. The taste and the body is very similar to a brown ale to me. Overall this is a very drinkable beer. It lacks the complexity to really stick out from the crowd but that does not mean that it is not enjoyable. You could easily sit down a drink a few of these in one sitting.

Bottle--gets better as it warms. Deep copper color with a medium head that recedes. Aroma is caramel, roast and solid nuts. Taste is malt and nuts with a touch of hops on the finish. Light carbonation, which is just right. Wonderful session beer that I finished too quickly! Bruisin ales. 2.00

11/27/13. On tap at the Downtown Market in Asheville. Amber brown pour with a small khaki head. Good aroma, light biscuit aspect, caramel, doughy malts, some earthy hop presence. Good flavor as well, biscuit, maltiness, caramel, a hint of fruitiness and hop. Solid for the style.

Tasted on 11/29/13 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Whole Foods Green Hills. Pours burnt orange with an average off-white head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is classic ESB with nutty malt, spicy noble hops, a touch of chocolate, and a touch of some fruit. The flavor is the same with the nutty and chocolate malt up front, moving to the spicy and nicely bitter noble hops. The body is light with just below average carbonation and a medium nutty and spicy hops finish. This is a top-notch ESB.

bottle. syrup thick brown pour with almost no head. big bready caramel malty nose. flavor is also robust toast, caramel and even some nuttiness. not much in the way of hop character. full bodied and thick. more like a s. english brown imo because of the huge malt presence.

On tap at the beer market. Pours deep amber. nose is rich malts and caramel. Flavor lends a very pronounced caramel and biscuit malt flavor mixed with an herbal hop presence and finishes with just a touch of roast malt. Semi sweet but finishes moderately dry. Good beer.

On tap at jack of the wood in Asheville. Fresh hop and roasted malt aroma. Clear copper with thin lacing head. Sweet caramel malt and floral hops in flavor. Notes of pepper and spice. Maybe a bit under carbonated but extremely drinkable. Nicely done

Taste is malt forward rich in toasty, bready, caramel flavors giving way to slight roast flavor and light hop spiciness. finish is slightly sweet, hop spiciness and lasting. medium bodied, it went down easy and smoothly.
