3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice brown ale. But not much of an octoberfest. Malty, not as sweet as you would expect.. Thin fading head. Flavor of fall. Overall an enjoyable beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle of the traditional Oktoberfest bier.
Body should have higher clarity but has a fine dark amber tone and a durable head.
Aroma: mild and pleasing, with some spicy/herbal hops mixed in with the light roasted and caramel malts.
Flavor: mild and pleasing. I’d like more boldness but, as usual for style, this beer is more designed for ’session’ drinking than slow sipping.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a bottle. Pours clear but brown with a creamy off white head and decent lacing. Tastes nutty, like creamy malt, grassy pone hops, and a dried fruit. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like roasted malt, nutty, burnt toast.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Deep amber pour with a frothy white head and good lacing. Aroma of baked bread, caramel and nutty maltiness. Flavor is similar and slightly thin with a quick and clean finish. Not terrible by any means.

12oz bottle, thanks to Alicia M for sharing! Clear red amber color. Good thin off-white head. Leaves good ridges of lace. Really nice toasty, mild caramel malt aroma.. Kind of a nice fruity, mildly coppery hop to this. Lightly spicy. Cool, complex flavor. I dig it. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick texture. Moderate sweet, light to moderate bitter taste. Tasty, balanced American marzen.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a light amber with medium white head. Aroma is herbal hops, some malt, with a grainy note. Flavor is more hops than anything. Some malt hiding in the background. It is definitely bitter in flavor, and not true to the style of beer. Over all it has a watery character with a grainy bitterness. Not great.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
An interesting take on the Marzen style, Green Man amps up the hop content and uses an unusual hop mix. Aroma is somewhat understated and does not showcase either the malt or hop character well. Nice full mouthfeel, but missing some of the toastiness that is a hallmark of the benchmarks of the style. Tasty but has some flaws and does not really showcase the style. Very pretty though, clear copper with a 2 finger off white head.
