COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English in style, it is “monster-hopped,” with English malts plus a special honey malt from Canada, Target and Kent Goldings hops added five times during the brewing process. This orange-amber ale is strong in both flavor and alcohol!

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2008 a good subtle session IPA. has a piney front with mild hoppiness and a good finish, i had this from a growler fresh of the tap... good stuff UPDATED. Had on cask and wow does this beer go well on task, the mouthfeel was wonderful on this, and the flavors really perk on cask, a definite grab if you see this on cask.

Darkish oak brown, little head. Citrus malt aroma. Stock west coast IPA - grapefruity, medium sweet, over-threshed Cascades or Centennial hops perhaps mixed with something English as a flavoring hop. Slightly viscous, but generally a medium body. Longish grapefruit finish. Hops build, but it’s not a hophead IPA.

Draught at brew pub. Very mild aroma (I’m noticing a pattern here) But the grapefruit makes it’s way through. The flavor is almost solely grapefruit hops, which come through with nothing to balance them out until a slightly malty finish. The second beer I’ve had this week where I have complained about the misuse of hops.

Darught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy, orange color with white head that laced the glass. Light flowery hop nose with strong sprucy hop flavor and bitter finish.

draught. Pours dark copper, a little hazy, and a whispy white head sits atop. Spicy, pungent aroma of pines and grapefruit. Powerful grapefruit hits the palate and the malts show up a little bit later in a sugary fashion. Somewhat astringent. Decent vessel for a hop assault, but could be better balanced.

I’m so not an IPA girl. Very bitter (surprise surprise). Medium bodied. For some reason I wrote good for an IPA.

As I am sure I’ve said before, I am a sucker for hop character. These hops tasted kind of smokey and earthy. The hops definitely masked almost every bit of maltiness that this beer may have. You get a tiny hint of some malts at the finish line. This beer was the first ale I’ve had after about 7 really shitty "pale lagers" alla Bud Light, Ice House, and Southpaw Light. So, perhaps I’m going overboard when I write, "God bless craft ale!" But then again maybe not.

mild earthy aroma with some floweriness. orange copper color - looks great in the glass. much more subtle than an american ipa (this is an english as listed in their menu). flavor starts with a good malt base followed by hop bitterness. After that it develops a toastiness and then finally finishes with a not unpleasant bitterness from the Target and EKG hops. Tastes what I imagine a good, traditional IPA should taste like.

Hops gone wild... in a very average way. Best thing about this beer is the nose. Down hill from there.
