Pours mostly clear gold with a tall white head.
Citrus & pine hop aroma.
The flavor is bitter and resiny with a nice dry finish.

Don’t really consider this an English style, as the label says. It smells a bit like toffee. The malt is interesting - milder than an English style, and finishes cleanly. Not bad, but not my favorite.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the brewery, served in a taster. Pours a semi-cloudy bright gold with a small eggshell colored head that leaves spots of lace. Notes of grass, florals, citrus, and hay - simple and bitter. Light-bodied, with a dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Better than the 1914, but still fell a little short of expectations.

Bottle--I’ve always liked Green Man Brewery, so I’m happy to the 100th rater of the IPA. Copper color with a small head and medium carbonation. Solid hop aroma with some grass/earth aroma. Taste is hoppy up front and followed by malts. If that’s honey malt, I love it. The finish is smoother than a high hopped west coast IPA. Bruisin ales 2.00

11/27/13. On tap at White Duck Taco in Asheville. Great tacos - okay beer. Amber pour with a small khaki head. Light aroma, earthy hops, some floral aspects, a metallic hint, bready, and caramel. Same on the flavor, a slightly more hop punch comes through, touches of earthy, floral, and citrus, balanced towards malty with doughiness and caramel. Meh.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2013 bottle. pours a cloudy copper with large head. nose is a mix of toffee and butter with earthy, floral, woody hop notes. love the sweet honey malt. nice alternative to crystal. woody, earthy hops flavor and some yeasty appley esters that are really too strong. medium full bodied for style.. opposite of the west coast style ipa.

12 ounce bottle, poured an amber orange with aromas of hops, caramel, and some pine. Flavors are the same, a basic IPA overall.
