Our latest seasonal release is so hoppy it will pop your taste buds with flavour! This artfully crafted pale golden coloured ale is delightfully different. Like the IPA’s the British soldiers of the 19th century had brewed for them in India. No added sugar. Best enjoyed 8-10 degrees Celcius.

Golden and clear with a frothy head. Low hop aroma, mild grain flavor, and a low bitter finish. Missing the hop flavor and aroma.

This had a few problems. my bottle 5% ABV- seems to vary batch to batch. I thought this was more sour bitter and familiar to Belgium style yeast, but that didn’t for me me make it bad drinking. I thought the bitter was all the front tip and no middle or finish. I thought it lacked aroma and I missed anything grassy or pine or things that I might expect from an IPA. Other than that, good.

Pours a dark coppery orange, little head or lacing. Hops, pine, citrus on the nose. Crisp mouthfeel, hoppy bitterness, hints of lemon, pine, grapefruit. Not bad, not great. Just OK.

Interesting IPA that to me cant really decide what it wants to be. More malty than hoppy but doesn’t really express itself in any form.

Bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma is slightly hoppy, bit pine and citrus. Clear, copper coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste has citric bitterness, a light caramel malty body/background. Bit harsh.

The head is good, body brown. It smells malty, hoppy, bit sweet. The taste is hoppy, less aromatic, bit malty, ok.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2013 I usually do not bother rating bad beer because I figure beer lovers know what the bad beers are and steer clear of them. I’m making an exception in this case because Green Man makes some reasonable beers and this brew may come as a surprise - a decidedly unpleasant one. Be warned - the known ’bad’ beers (Bud, Millers, Coors etc.) are better than this one! Not good...not good at all.

Tap. Moderate malt notes of roasted and caramel, moderate to heavy pine for the hops, light soap for the yeast. Head is small, creamy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear amber orange. Flavor starts moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is medium, a little slick with a soft carbonation. A little simple for an IPA, but the aromas are all there. Maybe it’s better to have this fresh from a keg rather than a bottle, judging by the other ratings.

Dark chestnut amberwith fluffy white head. Balsamic vinegar and redcurrantnotes in the nose are the first indications something’s gone wrong here. Medium carbonation, quite tart with red fruit and sweet malt, lots of acetic acid. Either infected or oxidised, pour job.
