From the bottle, cool but not chilled, and into a pint glass. I don’t know why I overlooked it as it was hidden away amongst cellared bottles for the past year or so. Pour started off gently then the head erupted to be half beer and half billowing white foam that raises up a good inch from the lip. A curtain of white suds cling to the glass as it empties, the head completely steadfast. Aroma is feint; it’s floral, and zesty, hints at rose petals, honeydew and cantaloupe, and leavened, unbaked bread. Similar in the mouth but with good malt flavours bursting through, a sweet, candy musk front, and a raspy, bitter edge in tail reminiscent of vine clippings. The body is light but it holds and feels well on the palate, the head adding a creaminess to it. Good length, floral and candyish again, and just that little bit drawing as to be juicy and mouthwatering. Keeps on impressing for the remainder. I’m dumbfounded to find it rate so low as I feel this to be a stunningly good Keller. It lacks the raw, meatiness of some of the finer of its style but on its own I’m left just wanting more. Very nice, very refreshing! (50cL, BBE Oct. ’09, The International Beer Store, W. Leederville)

After much prompting by Greig i finally tried this beer and i LIKED it! I wrote a few notes but i was kinda trying to watch the TV at the same tim...looks great in the glass, pale straw colour, cloudy, pretty good dense head. i found it to be zesty spritzy clean and refreshing with a tartness that i enjoyed. best Green man beer i’ve had!

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2008 Cloudy straw with fluffy white head. Aroma of lemons and grass. Gentle palate, slight yeast bite, with more lemons and a spicy hoppyness. I’ll try it again, but it’s not mindblowing. Re-Rate: OK, it’s better now. Same as above, but like the volume has been turned up. A very nice slight sourness is present too. I’m liking this beer.

It is quite fascinating to read the other ratings on this beer; they seem to be quite distinctly different from one another in many cases. My experience began with a hazy golden pour, moderate dense white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, and creamy. As it breathes, more orchard fruit character comes forward in the aoma. The palate is light, again with orchard fruits (pear, apple), with some low spicy notes. Medium bitter finish of short length. Really quite nice, light, and refreshing. I certainly would have this again.

Pours cloudy golden, fizzy white head which dissipates. Aroma is quite unique to me, fruity but with a vegetable like note, reminiscent of tomato vine and hops. Flavour is rather bitter, ginger, and a flavour I can only describe as earthy. Bitterness lasts throughout, finishing long and bitter with earthy vegetables. Not a session beer, but one with character.

Bottle. Very cloudy gold with a towering dull white head. High bead. Aroma of hay, pears, lemon and grass with a fair bit of vinegar must. Mild taste has orchard fruity sweetness with a yeasty sour note and a little drying spicy bitterness at the end. Pleasant and rustic.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy golden with a lively, white and lacing head that dissipates rather fast. Aroma of yeast and flowers. Fairly light in body with sweet malts, flowery accents and a shot of yeast. Dry and lightly hoppy finish. 270408
