On tap at The Federal, Durham. For all I know it could’ve been one of the other varieties listed in the database, but "Pale Ale" is what both chalkboard and waitron said. Bright pale copper pour, with fairly light carbonation. Isolated and large-ish bubbles rather than a foamy scrim. Dry fruit and hops in the nose, pale malts and leafy bitters. Mouthfeel is a bit of a letdown, prickly at first but then a bit watery. Flavors are quite dry for the most part, and refreshing for sure. But there wasn’t a huge amount going on here.

On tap at busy bee In Raleigh, nc. Hazy orange pour with a lush white head and spotty lace. Aroma is resinous citra hops. Aggressive hop profile with resinous tropical fruit undertones. I was pleasantly surprised By this brew and definitely enjoyed a few pints hopefully it finds it’s way back to the bee

Had a pint at Jack of the Wood. I get the feeling this is aimed at the BMC crowd. Not very flavorful, pretty forgetful. Aroma is nice and with it being light you can have it refilled a few times and not get overpowered. I was just expecting more out of it.

On tap at Jack of the Wood, Asheville NC, 6 July 2006 at 5.0%. Clear golden amber colour. Quite prominent citric hops in the aroma with some resinous touches. Stronger hop presence than I was expecting. Firm bitterness in the flavour with a more peppery, earthy hop character. Fairly light mouthfeel. A good drinking pint. More American than English in style.

Tap at the brewpub on 2/3/08: Transparent dark golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet pale grainy malts and a piny English hop presence. Starts fairly full and lightly sweet with an earthy soapy bittering hoppy character before a crisp, dry bittersweet finish. A decent, pretty drinkable APA.
