Unfortunately, I read the description of the beer first, and it tainted my rating. Anyway, poured dark brown with a slight red hue. Smells mostly of coffee and tastes the same. My only contribution is that it leaves a great roasted malt taste in your mouth.

Drank a Boylan Brewing co, drank in a pint glass poured from a tap. Pours a dark brown, with a light brown head. Smells of roasted malts. A well done porter but nothing amazing.

From a bottle, this porter poured an appetizing deep off-black color, minimal translucence, proportionate dark khaki head, thicker than your average porter. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate malt coffee, average for the style. Things get really interesting upon tasting this brew, which reveals a rich chocolatey and warm malty flavor, with an exceedingly smooth and creamy palate. Some coffee, no hops, mostly roasted malt in the flavor. Some might say not too complex, but I would say this brew doubles down on the smooth chocolate malt and does so successfully. Fresh, full-bodied, all around excellent!

Draft at Jack of the Woods The porter poured a dark black color with a tan head . The is a very smooth porter a with medium body. The aroma greets you with roasted malts, chocolate with hints of licorice and coffee. Another flavor that you experience is sweet apple. This is a complex porter worthy of its reputation.

Bottle. Poured black color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium dark sweet chocolate flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Bottle at home. Pours nearly black with tan head. Roast malt nose with some metallic odor, as well. Flavor is rich malt, with less roast character than expected. Nutty, coffee flavors. Finish is mild, slightly bitter. Metallic off-taste shows up in finish. Medium mouthfeel. Decent porter, hampered by metallic notes.

Green Man porter is dark in color like most traditional porters with a very rich and unique flavor. At first taste, you get a slight hint of chocolate with a very smooth and creamy finish! Great beer worth the try!
