3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
11/26/13. On tap at Barley’s in downtown Asheville. Deep dark brown pour, almost black, with a nice tan head that sticks. Solid aroma, mild dark chocolate and coffee, some breadiness, a hint of fruit. Nice flavor, chocolate and coffee mingle in flavor, a mild bitterness and dryness, and good bready malt character. Tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. Opaque chocolate with a lasting covering of creamy foam. Nose of dark chocolate, cream, and coffee. Tastes of coffee, sour cream, lightly tart berry, ash, cocoa, caramel and a touch of gunmetal. Medium body is balanced and has average carbonation. Just a little sticky, but really a pretty sessionable porter leaning towards stout territory.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate with hints of vanilla. Pours a coke cola brown with no head and moderate lacing. The taste is moderately bitter. Roasted malts with a nice hit of coffee, and chocolate notes. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, nice roasted flavors, but would prefer a fuller mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours deep red to black. Head quickly faded to a ring. nose is rich, nutty, breads, chocolate, a touch of sweetened coffee. Flavis again rich toffee, nuts, bread, cracker and some caramel. Semi sweet finish and some bitter roast malts in there as well. I really enjoyed the depth and coffee toffee richness on this one.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Starts off pretty nice but then gets overwhelmed with kind of a bland hoppy taste. Not much body, and an uninspiring finish. Not much head or carbonation at all.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark brown, almost opaque. Shows a little ruby around the edges. Tan head.
Aroma of dusty chocolate and coffee.
The flavor is sweet on the front that is balanced nicely with the hop bitterness, yet retaining the malty aspect overall.
Very nice Porter.
