2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at home. Pours nearly black with tan head. Roast malt nose with some metallic odor, as well. Flavor is rich malt, with less roast character than expected. Nutty, coffee flavors. Finish is mild, slightly bitter. Metallic off-taste shows up in finish. Medium mouthfeel. Decent porter, hampered by metallic notes.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Green Man porter is dark in color like most traditional porters with a very rich and unique flavor. At first taste, you get a slight hint of chocolate with a very smooth and creamy finish! Great beer worth the try!

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
From site: Dark, full-bodied, and rich in flavor, Green Man Porter is wonderfully easy to drink. It offers a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and finishes with distinctive chocolate notes. This traditionally crafted, award-winning British-style Porter, like a true rock star, enjoys a legendary following.
It was flat. Good flavor though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from Bruisin’ Ales, 1/13/15
Aroma: The nose is on the lighter side, with dark malts, dark chocolate, licorice, and roast
Appearance: Pours an opaque black-brown color with a bubbly beige-brown head and lots of lace
Flavor: Roasty and fairly unsweet up-front, sweet chocolate comes through in the mid-end palate
Palate: This one has less body than I expected from the description, feels closer to watery than it does to heavy, it is somewhat creamy, but with more carbonation than I was expecting as well
You really have to work to get any aroma, the components are solid, but muted. The flavor comes through a bit more. The palate disappointed me, because I was expecting a full bodied, creamy, smooth beer, and that isn’t what I got at all. Overall, this is just okay.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with thin tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is nice roasty dark chocolate with good english fruity esters behind. Taste follows, more of the chocolate and less of the fruit, hint of earthy back end. Very nicely done.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2014 Actually a pretty nice porter. For abv a nice beer. Pretty good mouth feel with no chalkiness as some porters have. Just a sweet film on your mouth which is what you would desire. A very enjoyable beer to enjoy. Light nose. Flavors of chocolate and very light bitterness. fast fading head.
