Draft... Jupiter Craft Brewer’s Festival 2013... This beer rocks!… Deep, crystal clear, textbook amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Great retention. The bouquet is a grapefruit bomb with a sprinkling of cat piss and other assorted, dank, earthy notes. There are also mild components of biscuit and flowers. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with prickly carbonation. The flavor features an impressive toffee, caramel and honey malt backbone, but it only serves as a pedestal for massive citrusy and earthy hop bitterness. Lengthy, bittersweet finish. World class imperial IPA!

Bottle shared by jmborggren. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex resin, citrus and earthy aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy complex bitter flavor with a moderate to heavy complex bitter finish of medium to long duration. This is a standout beer.

750 ml bottle shared by jmborggren. Pours a clear bright orange amber color with a small, but lasting white head. The aroma has citrus, herbal and light pine hops with an sizable toasted malt backbone. The flavor leans more toward the malt side which isn’t bad, but I like my DIPA’s to have a bit more assertive hop bill. Toasted caramel malt with a balanced citrus, herbal, grassy hop presence. Moderate bitterness. Tasty, but I wanted more hops.

Labeled as 9.3% ABV. 750ml bottle shared with the group by jmborggren, I think. Mostly clear golden / orange color. Good thin somewhat bubbly white head. Decent lace. Awesome citrusy - orange piney nose. Smooth, light carbonation. Grapefruit in the flavor. Kind of a creamy texture. Nice and smooth. Good bitter taste, and zesty sweetness. Some kiwi. Nice bitter taste. Good sweet zest. Nice big caramel malt base. Balanced, but still assertive DIPA. I dig it.

Tap. Haven’t had too many IIPA’s in my time, but if they all taste like this I need to have more. Nice and hoppy beer.

TURDFERGUSON (3574) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Bottle shared by b3shine in the lobby, RBWG. Pours hazy orange amber with a small fizzy white head. Nose is earthy, light citrus, pine, grass, toffee, caramel. Flavor is similar, like their ipa, this is much less aggressive than your typical American IPA being made these days even with the extended hop bill. Bittersweet, light boozy finish.

750 ml bottle to taster at RBWG (shared by me). Looks good; a fairly transparent orange with sticky off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid; bitter hops with a full, malty backbone and a nice mouthfeel. Good beer.

750ml bottle at RBWG. Rich and full aroma, full of earthy, dirty. Great dirtiness, really nice double ipad.

Brewvival Trip Beer 9. Draft at the brewery. Pours a murky orange color with a large creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of intense resin hops with pine, citrus and tropical hops and caramel malts. Huge hoppy taste with notes of resin, herbal, vegetal and candied citrus. Pale malts. Medium bodied, faint booze. Different DIPA, but quite nice.
