Draft at Jack in the Wood The D/IPA poured a clear amber color with off-white head and lacing. Grapefruit is the dominant aroma that greets you. The taste is more complex. This is a special ale. The brewer claims 158 IBU..This ale has a medium body with average-soft carbonation. The sip strides easily into assertive bitterness in the finish and a little alcohol warmth in the throat.

Big sweet DIPA. Hazy burny orange. Aroma of caramel and citrus peel. Taste was definitely big caramel with complex hop characteristics coming through - citrus, bitter, and earthy. Fair drinkable for being so big.

750ml bottle from Peabody’s in Boone, NC. Some malt but piney but full aroma. Pours copper orange with a nice white foam with great lacing. Taste is huge, hops explode, with a hint of malt and a alcohol burn mixed in but in full flavor. The palate is piney but not over top. A great beer and I will pick this up again for sure.

No date on the bottle, so I can only assume it is fresh and will be rating it as such. Yellow-orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some biscuit malt and grass but also a strong note of cooked vegetables. The flavor is a bit better. I get some orange and light pine notes as well as some biscuit malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Definitely seems past its prime, but with no date on the bottle I can’t say for sure.

Bottle thanks to scotchzi. Wow. Pours pretty clear orangeish/gold. Smell is super fresh juicy pineapple, and citrus. Taste is fresh grapefruit core, floral hops, pineapple, citrus, malty base, and underlying earthy notes at the end. Very balanced. Bold flavors but not overpowering.

Pours a nice amber into the glass, with a fluffy white head that leaves ring soap lacing. Very hoppy nose, with fresh peppered grassiness. Flavors boast a bold malt contingency, alcohol notes, peppering pine and resins to finish. A well-balanced brew, providing a chewy mouthfeel and a thick, full body that slathers the tongue. Green Man knows how to put out some world class brews in these micro-batch special releases. Just great!
