COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust and warming, this stout has hints of coffee and dark chocolate. A complex variety of roasted malts, and moderate hopping temper the pleasant sweetness of this brew. This special batch lurked in our cellar until our brewers felt it was worthy of its name.

750 ml bottle shared by drsordr in July ’13. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small tan head. The aroma and flavor has roasted malts, dark chocolate, tobacco, light coffee and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied for an imperial stout. Decent, but I would like to try on draft at the source.

750ml from Peabody’s Wine & Beer in Boone, NC. A nice stout scent with malt, chocolate with some hop dryness. Pours very dark brown with a very slight foam and alittle lacing. A very nice stout with a hop burn with the malts and chocolate but without the super sweet of some stouts which is nice. The palate has malts, semi sweet chocolate and a tinge of alcohol. Overall a very nice stout and would buy this again.

Taster on tap at the brewery during RBWG. Near black color. Thin brown head. Dots and ropes of lace. Good robust, dark fruity aroma in the nose. Bigger body. Lighter, kind of soft, smooth carbonation. Lightly dry. Moderate sweet, moderate bitter. Roast malt, dark fruit, dark chocolate. Tasty, flavorful imperial stout. Not as chewy as others, but it hides ABV well.

2014 RBWG At the brewery’s tasting room. Black with a tan head. Complex dark roast aroma. The flavor has good balance between the sweetness and the roast malts without being bitter.

On tap courtesy of Green Man for RBWG. Dark chocolate pour. Some nice expected chocolate and coffee notes, but is this a bit off? Some ethanol hotness, paint, and slight cherry quality. Kind of odd.

On tap at Green Man. Pours a black color with off white head. Roasty, malty, light alcohol burn, sweet flavors. Eh, alright.
