COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust and warming, this stout has hints of coffee and dark chocolate. A complex variety of roasted malts, and moderate hopping temper the pleasant sweetness of this brew. This special batch lurked in our cellar until our brewers felt it was worthy of its name.

Bottle pour at the source. The beer is a thick brown with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has licorice and burnt toffee. Some caramel and raisin as well. More of a bitter stout. Big body and lower carbonation.

Draft. Not much aroma. Lots of coffee flavor, kind of a dark-roasted Pacific coffee. Not much chocolate or layers. The alcohol is well-hidden and the finish is strikingly clean. But otherwise, kind of average.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours black-brown with a thick, tan foam head. Decent beer, with a bit of chewy tar, sugary chocolate, light roast, molasses. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with light earthy bitterness, torched wood, chocolate, vanilla, dark bread. Good stuff on the whole.

Bomber from 2013. Walnut with a fluffy khaki head. Mellow aroma of roast, cocoa and a little coffee. Taste is similar, but picking up some dark ripe fruit as well. Smooth and full bodied. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Overall a good imperial stout.

Bottle... Pours black with a mid-sized, creamy, deeply tanned head. Great retention. The roasty aroma expresses dark chocolate, espresso and fudge. Full-bodied with a silken mouthfeel and airy carbonation. The flavor is burnt and bitter - charcoal, ash and scorched coffee. Lengthy, bitter, carbonic finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!
