Keg at Green Room during RBWG 2013. Pours clear gold with a fine, white cream head. Juicy melon and tangerine aroma. Medium sweet flavor, balanced bitterness, more juicy citrus. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild resinous finish, decent sweet pale malts, tangerine, lime and grapefruit. Nice IPA.

Hazy tan with a thin head. Medium hop aroma is woody, a bit weedy with lots of grapefruit. Earthy character. Restrained bitterness with sweet, slightly bready/doughy malts. Not bad.

Draft. Poured hazy light copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate citrus balanced aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Draft… Hazy, deeply golden ale with a small, wispy, white head. Great retention. The bouquet provides bready, grainy malts and grapefruity, earthy hops. Medium-bodied with busy carbonation. Good balance. Flavorful, but restrained, hops. Finishes crisp with a very light, lingering bitterness.

Tap at the brewpub. The pour is a clear, light orange with a larger, off-white creme head. Not so much retention but very nice lacework. Muted citrus hop nose. Taste is very well balanced- rather than being a hop bomb or heavy malt behemoth, it straddles the fine line like Ballast Point Sculpin and Alesmith IPA where the malt character is quenching and weightless on the palate. Nutty bitterness is restrained with small biscuit and soapy hops come through. Very soft mouthfeel, low carbonation, and not too bitter and certainly not hop forward. Long, bitter finish. Clean palate overall. No aromatic hops like normal American IPAs. I’d say the malt character, attenuation, and bitterness here is perfect. But it really needs some aromatic hops/dry hopping. Still, I was able to put away about three pints of these no problem. Not bad for 7%.

Had this during the 2011 Shenandoah Throwdown, via a growler courtesy of the inscrutable GT. Pours a clear orange gold with a thin white head. Soft fruity sweetness, toast, hints of peach. Medium bodied, malt, nice light bitterness. Toast and slowly developing grapefruit bitterness, more sweetness.
