2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival on 30 November. Mid amber colour - slightly darker than the Ayr Leezie Lundie. Slightly dodgy aroma - a little clammy malt and a whiff of diacetyl. Otherwise a fairly light session bitter with a smattering of citric hop on the palate and a soft bitterness. Middle of the road, other than the aroma.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml clear glass bottle from Beers of Europe. The clear glass and clear label design doesnít work for me. It looks like a grubby milk bottle with drunken piss inside. The malt (despite being "the finest") doesnít have much flavour or character - itís a watery, indifferent, slightly dirty malt. The hops have a firm hold on the beer - but the aroma is of yeast and dirty socks, rather than hoppy fragrance; itís in the taste that the hops make themselves felt. Some bitterness, some citric notes - but not attractive enough for me. I can see what the intention was, but it hasnít quite worked for me.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ugly, muddy light brown with no head. The aroma is caramel and oxidation. Taste is malty, maybe a bit earthy and definitely a bit oxidized.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, got from Eden Project. Ugly muddled, dull brown color, no head... Mild aroma, apple and pear skins, not as bad as it looks. Tastes stale, a bit cardboardy, thin, and dull but nothing seriously wrong. Remains drinkable in spite of flaws. Has a pleasant toasty hoppy bitterness in the finish that has potential to shine.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle. Pours dark amber. Aroma is really good, Iíd say dry hopped, smeels of grassy hops with some citrus too. Taste is quite grassy, with a nice amount of bitterness. A higher abv would probably give this beer the backbone it needs, but not a bad beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Dark brown glass colour with light brown head. Nice and lively condition. Caramel, nutty aroma with hint of citrus. Early bitterness on taste but short lived leaving rich malty caramel flavours and smooth mouth feel.
