Bottle. Some sweet caramel and then roasted malt characters, some dark fruit characters aswell. There is aonly a really subtle hint that there is any port in this at all. A bit dissapointing.

Bottle @ Chemsford BF06: Black in colour. Sour, tart fruity notes. Chalky feel. Nice dark malts and raisins. Not bad.

Bottled - Chelmsford BF. An almost black coloured beer. The aroma was oily and fishy. The taste was dry and thin with some roastiness and again a little fishy character. A little understated and if there is some port it wasn’t noticeable.

Bottle conditioned Chelmsford beer festival, 2006, a major gusher of a bottle. I think this is the Coal Porter blended with a little port. Chocolate. Thin and fizzy, some sugary finish and a touch stale tasting. Smooth body.
