[500ml bottle from Aldenham Farmers’ Market] Gift from parents-in-law (cheers!). Bottle-conditioned, pours a gloriously attractive slightly sparkling clear copper-russet colour. Initially bitterness dominates, but plenty of malt and some plum crumble soon follows. This is followed by a crisp, refreshing dry earthy bitterness, reminiscent of scrunching your way through heaps of fallen leaves on the first frosty day of winter, with an anticipation of a roaring open fire in a cosy pub at the end of the walk. This is, in fact, the perfect Autumn bitter. Great stuff!

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small off white head. Malty aroma with the faintest chocolate hint. Taste has refreshing peachy fruit, sweet malt and some bitterness. Very good regulation bitter.

Cask at Merton Summer Beer and Cider Festival 2009 18-07-09 Pours amber with no head to speak of. Initially I sort of wrote this of as being rather wishy washy and of no great appeal but gradually it pulled me in a little and ended up a decent little session beer with good toffee flavours, decent maltiness and light bitterness.
