Cask (gravity dispense) at GBBF, August 2005. Interesting things about diacetyl. One man’s "a little" is another man’s "a lot". I’m definitely in the "a lot" faction with this one. And I don’t like it. Can’t think this was intended, so there’s either something wrong with the beer or with the conditioning. Other than the butterscotch, this was dry, wit some dusty hop and a rather soggy malt presence. Not impressed but it may not be entirely the brewer’s fault.

Big butterscotch aroma. Clear copper with thin, white, fully diminishing head. Butterscotch diacetyl flavour dominates the flavour with some stale leafy hoppiness in the finish. Quite still and slick medium body that lacks carbonation. Unpleasant. I wonder if we sampled this on the same day of the fest. All I could taste was diacetyl. Cask at GBBF 2005.

Cask (GBBF): Amber with a beige head. THin in body. Boring, mildly fruity bitter.

Cask conditioned - handpump - GBBF 2005. An amber coloured bitter with a fairly malty aroma which also feastures caramel and a tiny amount of diacetyl. The taste is malty with a little toffee and a reasonable body. I think I was the only one to like this.
