3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kwoeltje (2072) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - AUG 5, 2006
(bottle) light amber with quickly fading off white head. Faint hops and caramel aroma. Flavor is malt with a hint of sweetness and some hops. A tad watery, but not a bad pale ale at all. This would make a good "bridge beer" to get pale lager drinkers to start trying other kinds of beer.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 bb (5974) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 27, 2006
Bottle. Rich amber beer with an off-white head. Light floral hop aroma with a bit of sweet malt. Sweet caramel flavor with floral and very light citrus hops. Very non-descript until it ends with a bit of a metallic tongue coating.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 YourDarkLord (1800) - Urbana, Illinois, USA - JUL 21, 2006
Didn’t learn until after sampling that this was an A-B acquisition. So, I legitimately did not like it. Pours a clear bronze with a small off white head. Faint notes of citrus and caramel in the aroma. Thin and watery. The flavor was slightly hoppy but rather bland.

I think this one’s getting some unfair ratings do to the "A-B" association. Bad news, fellas, AB is buying a lot of brerweries. Does it matter if the recipes and quality remain the same? Ah, well. Pours a golden-to-amber hue, with a fairly large, fluffy head. Aroma is pretty good, bready and warm with a nice citric hop note. Flavor is initially somewhat restrained malt, leading to some nice grapefruit that fills the sinus, and gradually slips away with a hint of metal, and a nice peppery, lingering finish. Palate is a bit watery, flavors a bit restrained, but not a bad effort. Refreshing on a hot afternoon.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 vyvvy (3287) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAY 27, 2006
Sampled at St. Louis Microfest - Pours clear bownish gold with an off white head. . Aroma had light floral hops and light caramel malt. Flaver was hustky malts and was quite dry tasting. Finish was husky and sour with some hops, but not much. An okay beer.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Braudog (5060) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAY 19, 2006
Bottle at the St Louis Microfest, 5/13/06. Alongside A-B’s other new partnerships with small organic brewers, this was interesting. It poured light amber with a milky head. Pretty even tones with a lightly hoppy finish. In the end, just a "regular" beer.
