Draught at Flo & Santos. Poured almost black(brown) with no head. Resinous aroma. Kind of smooth with obvious hop very bitter at end. Not as good as other BIPAs.

Bottle. Pours black. Very small tan head that dissipates quickly. Strong pine aroma. Taste is of hop bitterness with plenty of roasty coffee and chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Great chewy bitter mouth feel. This may be my favorite Black IPA. After drinking Anger and Dungrass Iím pretty excited about this relatively new brewery. Think I may need to take a road trip this summer to check out the Greenbush tap room.

Looks almost like a robust porter or a stout in the glass. Aggressive, piney nose with some citrus to it. Flavor is a bit of malt pushed forward by a truckload of hops. Finish is a bit of coffee and some hop resins. Long, long aftertaste.

Bottle from Oxford beer store. Dark body and pine and hop nose. Smooth and crisp even with all that hop and grapefruit taste. Pretty impressive for a new brewery. ---Rated via my mouth

Bottle from trade with Silphium. Deep black pour with red hues, latte like head. aroma is sweet malt with some raw herbs. Smooth chocolate up front with roasted coffee. Bitter linger denotes the happiness. To me this is almost a stout. The choice of hops makes this a unique beer. The simcoe dominates to me.

A little raw tasting but alot going on. I like the hops and dark malt backbone play. Definitely not one sided. But still not real clean on either hops taste a little vege and raw but all in all not bad...they will smooth out the edges and this will be a very fine beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

First thing I taste is pine. I can?t decide how I feel about that, but i think I like it. Fairly heavy floral hops, smooth toffee, citrus peels and hints of brown sugar as well. Very crisp despite the strong flavors. If nothing else, itís certainly unique and definitely worth the try.

Served on tap in a pint glass. Anger has an onyx color, a gentle reminder that this is a beer that will deliver some intensity. A small ecru head rests on top of the beer, but the small size is more due to the nature of the pour than the beer itself. The aroma is a sharp blend of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and pine and citrus hops. It is easy to distinguish the aromas, but they work together nicely. My first sip starts off with a bang; fully roasted malt, smoke, dark unsweetened chocolate, and strong black coffee all come through. The flavor at this point is enough to be considered a flavorful beer. But then the hop flavors start playing games with my taste buds. There is a dash of grapefruit and orange citrus, but the main player is a strong spicy, resiny pine note. The hops and coffee work together to bring a bitter finish, although there is not much aftertaste. The thickness of this mouthfeel is right around where I want it to be. At 7.6%, I want something that has some bite to it, and Anger does not disappoint. The carbonation is creamy and smooth. Out of the bottle the carbonation is a little bit out of control, so I like it better on tap. There is a bit of hoppy resin residue left on my lips after each sip. Anger is one of the top American Black Ales out there, no question. This is a great beer that straddles two categories rather nicely. I order this regularly.

Enjoyed from bottle at Pete's Barber Shop at his 2 year anniversary in Chicago IL. Stuff is good. Appearance very dark brown light off white head. Aroma chocolate and acidic hops, good black IPA smell. Taste is pretty exceptional, rich in chocolate, coffee (espresso) and bitter hops. 6 points?
