12 oz bottle, pours a roasty stouty black with chocolate and hops aroma - an interesting opening approach. a tiny bit of alcohol is apparent but not boozy, and the big hops presence is a fun combination with the cocoa. full bodied with a fully bitter and dark chocolate finish - quite a nice beer.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, citrus hops and cereal malts. Black hue with an average tan head that mostly diminished and left decent lace. Flavor is medium sweet and very bitter. Palate is full bodied and water average. Overall a solid BIPA.

12oz bottle 6/8/13 (Binny’s Downers Grove Mix a Six)-40° in Shaker-Pours black with a small loose tan head. Aroma of hops, chocolate, and coffee. Taste of the same with more chocolate and coffee. This medium to full bodied brew has a lot darker tastes and is still easily drinkable. Great brew.

On tap at the brewery. Pours brown with ruby highlights. Concentric lacing. Aroma has that great grassy hop smell, some roasted maltiness, some chocolate. Taste does not follow through as well, more citrusy, some caramel, some malt. It has a bit of an off flavor (spiced?). Finishes medium. Very fresh.

12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a large tan head. Aroma of floral and resinous hops, citrus, with caramel and roasted malts. Taste of upfront piney hops and citrus ending with bitterness and dark malts. A nice balance all the way through, very drinkable.

Bottle to snifter (thanks tmoney99). Looks good; a murky dark Brown with thin beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; malty and golly. Good on the palate too. Nice.

Aroma is very hoppy and malty, sweet grapefruit and grassy. Appearance is dark dark brown, beige head. Taste is very malty and bitter, hop presence at the back. The flavor is like a bitter scotch ale with the hops finishing. The mouthfeel is sticky, the flavor does not dissipate. Overall, it’s tasty and complex.
