4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap sample at MBGSF 2013. Poured hazy dark yellow color with a medium frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus and floral hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy citrus bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded by this standout beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint on tap at the brewpub (Sawyer, MI). Excellent.. Sounds promising. Pours a well hazed amber applesauce hue, almost murky, darker orange glow is present through the body. A frothy white head atop stays as a firm soapy layer, laces ok. Aromas present a pleasant fruity layer, gentle tropical fruit, passionfruit, and a bit of melon meet a bit of gumball, citrus, and florals. Gentle wheat, some fruit. Nothing overdone, but a gentle sweetness and fairly complex hop bouquet is there. A bit of grapefruit, some lemon, gentle orange. Initial is medium bodied, a firm fuzzy bitterness hits the palate. Good grapefruit and florals start to tempt the tounge. Firm bitterness grows from a more fruit forward front. Passionfruit, gentle tropical fruit and gumball make way for a firmly citrusy bitter middle. Firm hop presence, a bit resiny and floral. Nice hops grow slowly from the front into a more formidable backend presence. Firm grapefruit, lemon, and dry bitter floral presence catches on. Backend is dry, bitter, citrusy. A bit of that front end and nose complex fruit character hangs on, gentle gumball and passionfruit, but overall its quite bitter, rind presence, and citrus juice. Gentle bread, mellow grainy quality are covered well. Not a pretty beer, but it delivers. Not a hop screamer nor a beer that will dominate your palate with lush fruity hop presence or any sort of overwhelming flavor profile. The Wheat IPAs always seem to muddle or cover up some of the dominance of the fruit, but also seem much more sessionable. Well put together. Thoroughly solid IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to taster at Shakespeare’s 10th Anniversary Party. Looks solid; malty though. A hazy deep orange with off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid too; bitter and grapefruit with a fairly malty backbone. Nice on tbe palate. Good beer.

Unfiltered yellow/amber pour. This one is great, citrusy hops, nice bitterness.
