COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was developed as a collaboration with Mark Richman, the lucky winner of the Taste of the Nation "brewer for a day" silent auction item. This is one monster of an imperial IPA, brewed with a bit of honey and beet sugar.

Typical amber color I would expect from the style....it tastes OK, but I must admit...I was expecting a bit more. Its just feeling a little thin for an imperial ipa. Overall still good, and I would get it again.

Bottle @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day. Pours a copper orange appearance with an off white head. Somewhat herbal, orange citrusy hoppy, a bit toasty malty aroma. The hops seemed kind of dull in the flavor, so I kind of wonder about the age of the beer. There was some decent citrus notes but I would really like to try this one again fresh.

Great smelling aroma but faint. Pours out a deep orange with a head that disapears quickly. Has kind of a bland taste that isn’t well balanced. It leaves a bitter finish that leaves you disappointed.

Pours a dark copper, bronze, rusty orange color, with medium head. Powerful citrus/hops aroma. Spicy, slightly bitter, tangerine, hoppy flavor & aftertaste. Very satisfying.

Bottle to snifter. Hop aroma from the moment the cap comes off the bottle. Cloudy peach iced tea color. Thin white film for a head. Juicy, dank hops that remind of cut grass sprinkled with a lemon-grapefruit juice combination. Taste is surprisingly malty up front, with the flavor or the nose mixed in, and a honey-hop cough drop finish. Very well constructed with a creamy mouthfeel that complements the flavors.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a rich dark red with a medium off white head. Aroma of strong bitter pine and resiny hops with beet sugar sweetness. Flavor is quite strong with the resin and pine bitter hops with a touch of earthiness to balance it out. Mild red-cake malt, however quite dry. Thick bodied, finishes long and bitter. Nice.

Tasted on 5/6/13 from a capped 12oz bottle sent to me in the Easter Bunny BIF. Pours cloudy brown with a very thick off-white head that slowly recedes to thick and rocky lace. The nose is full of resin, floral, grassy, and touch of tropical fruit hops, with some nice caramel malt and a touch of bread as the backbone. The flavor is a bit more malty with plenty of caramel and brown sugar, with the resin and grassy hops on the back of the palate. The body is fairly full with average carbonation and a very long malty and nicely bitter finish. This a nice, fairly malt forward, Double IPA.

Bottle received via trade with FlandersNed. Pours lightly cloudy dark amber to mahogany with a large, creamy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, and grapefruit hops with apricot and pineapple fruity esters, light caramel and honey malt with some biscuit character. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness with a sweet malt backbone, light fruity esters, and a dry finish. Full body and moderate carbonation.

Pours unclear juicy amber light orange. Flavor brings sweet and juicy hops and honey, a git floral. Flavor brings the sharp but enjoyed bitterness with the sweet notes really big on the palate, not settling at all. Body is decent and juicy as well.

Bottle. Hazy golden/red chestnut with a dense, medium off white head. Strong hops and juicy citrus aromas along with some tropical fruit. Citrus, pine and a little malt with a bitter and sticky finish.

12 ounce bottle from ICEatALAMO, poured a dark murky amber orange color with aromas of huge resin, pine, hops, and some light bitterness. The resin aroma is amazing. Flavors are pine, resin, sweet honey and a big brash dose of booze. Didn’t see the booziness coming at all. Overall a nice DIPA, thanks for sending it as an extra!
