2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle @ Crooked Stave ROY-G-BIV Day. Pours a copper orange appearance with an off white head. Somewhat herbal, orange citrusy hoppy, a bit toasty malty aroma. The hops seemed kind of dull in the flavor, so I kind of wonder about the age of the beer. There was some decent citrus notes but I would really like to try this one again fresh.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated on 4-15-2014 (Bottle) This bottled beer pours a medium sized velvety smooth off-white head, transparent deep orange body, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, citrus hops, sweet, fruity, and a suggestion of honey. The taste is sweet caramel malt, fruity, citrus hops, light honey, and some alcohol. The mouthfeel has a warming sensation from the high ABV and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this is a sipping beer at 10.1%ABV. The ABV is present in the flavor and in a good way. This is a quaffable beer, but the flavor is one of those that I cannot drink a whole lot of at one sitting.

4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated transparent orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The almost non-existent aroma was malty. The sharp vinous mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of caramel and hops. A wonderful best in class brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From notes. 12 oz bottle shared during a sharing of the Advent Calendar (conclusion!) on March 30. The pour is a darker copper color with a medium white head and a small amount of lacing on this. The aroma is big on the malty side of IPAs (perhaps how Greenbush favors). I tend to favor more of the big citrus and humongous hops, but the maltiness is good, just not quite expected. The flavor is pretty good. There is a strong hoppiness, but the maltiness is strong on the back end. There isnít much else going on there. The mouth feel is a little thin, slightly creamy, with a good carbonation and a solid dry, lingering aftertaste

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Great DIPA. Strong hop aroma, nice dark amber color with a generous head that leaves adequate lacing. Taste is a nice balance of hops and malt with a hint of alcohol. Great job once again by Greenbush, they are starting to make a name for themselves.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
-Bottle from kmbrewmaster. Pours a dark hazy amber with a finger of foamy tan head. Aroma has floral and fruit notes along with caramel malt. Taste is sweet from the honey and heavy malt backbone. The hops take a backseat for a DIPA. Grapefruit rind is present in the finish. Medium body - creamy with soft carb. A nice beer, but not your typical DIPA; the honey mellows it out and the malt is pretty heavy.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz poured dark orange color wiht a medium sized white head. Aroma is citric with some floral notes. Bittersweet flavor with a hoppy citric finish and some cristal malt, kind of a imperial red ale. Medium full palate, a little bit sticky and alcoholic.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2014 Bottle: Murky brown, nearly opaque... Looks like a swamp or dirty shit-water. Lots of floating sediment; foamy, fine, lasting khaki head on top. Aroma has notes of pungently sweet grapefruit rind, spice, white pepper, herbaceous & earthy leaves, honey, a nebulous tartness, heavy caramel, residual sugars, baked bread. What the hell is going on here? Smells like a malt-heavy DIPA, tastes like a malt-ONLY DIPA. Insanely huge malt bill shows itself immediately; sticky caramel, sweetbread, & honey scream out with cries of unattenuation. Hops flavors are merely an afterthought - herbal, ashy, & spicy - yet the finish is filled with an intense bitterness (despite the all-around heavy malt sweetness). Notes of extremely bitter citrus peel & grapefruit pith. Apparent booze, growing fusel with time. Bitter finish, still lingering with a caramely, thick mouth coating. This beer is all over the place, not very good at all.
Tap: I was about 96% sure the bottle I had was fresh. But just to be safe, I tried this beer again when I saw it on tap. I can assure you I will never make that mistake again. This beer is just not good. Or perhaps just not at all what Iím looking for when I wanít a "DIPA". I really donít understand the love for this beer, Greenbush has plenty of better offerings (cheaper ones, too).
