COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A stout-ish porter with a touch of porter-ish stout. Accepting the fact that we live in confusing times, Greenbush offers up it’s own "ball of confusion," with Distorter - a robust porter blurring the lines between a porter and a stout. Have a bottle or get therapy.

Grain: Maris Otter, Crystal 60L, British Chocolate, Black Malt, Roasted Barley Hops: East Kent Goldings, Willamette, Cascade Yeast: British-style Ale yeast

Bottle:   Nearly black, moderate foamy light beige head, nice lacing.   Sweet roasty nose, slight lactose.   Sweet start, roasted malts, lactose sweetness.   This is pretty tasty.   Not a lot of bitterness.   What is there seems to come from the roastiness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Slight chocolate on the exit, otherwise sweet roasted malts, lactose sugar, and light nuttiness.   Like a soft Porter crossed with a Milk Stout.   Pretty tasty!   Thanks Kevin!

On tap at the Haymarket Greenbush event. Pours blac with a dark brown head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with a backing bitter chocolate note. Flavor is similar with bitter chocolate and dark grains up front with a strong roasted malt finish.

Tap: Deep brown with ruby highlights topped by a small creamy tan head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roast, char, plum, herbal and grassy hops along with a dash of caramel candy bar. The taste has a nice twangy dark fruit character over layers of chocolate, vanilla, walnuts and coffeeish malts. Very light bitterness and some earthy undertones. Lively but mildly carbonated, oily and fuller bodied than most porters, ashy finish, alcohol very well hidden. This has more in common with a Baltic Porter with the fruity aspects than a English brown porter, yep it is borderline stout, hybrid and yummy. Took a growler home. my favorite beer of the day.
