3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had on tap at Bad Apple in Chicago, served in a 16oz. Hofbršuhaus stein.
A: Pours a very hazy dark brown with a pillowy one inch, bone colored head that has some great retention. The head sticks around for quite sometime and leaves some sticky and plentiful lace down the whole glass.
S: The peppery and clove like yeast hits you in the nose right away. There is some banana bread like sweetness and some oaty malts as well.
T: The taste is much like nose. Nice notes of spicy fruity esters and banana like yeast. It is a touch more peppery than the nose. The malty sweetness on the finish brings it together.
M: Full bodied in flavor, but not to heavy at all. The drinkability was very nice and the stein went down easy. Carbontion was spot on.
O: A very solid brew from an up and coming brewery. Iím excited to try more from Greenbush in the new future as more kegs come to Chicago.
Serving type: on-tap

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft to taster. Looks decent for the style; a murky golden brown with off-white lacing. Smells and tastes yeasty and malty with some dark fruit and spices with a bit of tartness. Average on the palate. Okay.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap. Pours a dark brown that transforms to a ruby/garnet when held to the light. A thinner khaki to mocha head settles to a ring and leaves a few heaps of clingy, intricate lace. Big clove immediately on the nose, followed by banana, cherry, a touch of vinegar, raisin-bread, and other Belgian yeast sweet-spice character. Very malty sweet with a fair bitterness that helps balance. Heavy side of medium bodied, a fair active carb, with a long spicy finish. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It seems well hopped, which helps considering how sweet the style is prone to being. Paired nicely with a hearty meal.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
From notes. 12 oz bottle shared during a sharing of the Advent Calendar (conclusion!) on March 30. The pour is a muddy tan with a light cream colored head and no lacing. The aroma is pretty malty and a little spicy, which is decent. There is a pretty strong Belgian character to it, which is just meh. The flavor is very reminiscent of the aroma. Iím surprised there isnít more of a spiciness on the flavor of this one. There is a defined Belgian yeastiness and a solid malt character that is surprisingly nice. The mouth feel is a bit thin, but the light carbonation helps a little, ad there is a spicy, dry aftertaste

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap and in bottles numerous times: Hazy deep amber with a frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma acts the part... banana creme pie, clove, wheat bread, bubblegum, hint of milk chocolate and caramel with a light handed herbal and spicy hop ester. The taste has a nice balance between weizen and bock where neither dominates the other. Spicy, fruity, roasty, bready, and slightly roasty... is a touch tannic however which leads to my biggest critic of this beer. The mouth feel is clean, too clean and dry for the genre IMO. I do like this a lot, just wished it had more depth of mouth feel.

Bottle with a big thanks to bbb. Notes of smooth toasted dough and caramel, mellow raison and light plum tang. Soft double wheat malt backing. Creamy. Touch of grassy plum bitterness. Good.
