Dark brown pour. Booze, brown sugar, raisins, cherry in the nose. The Taste is a bit more subdued and showcases the yeast. Overall, a cool beer.

From notes. 12 oz bottle shared during a sharing of the Advent Calendar (conclusion!) on March 30. The pour is a medium brown with a soft ring of white head and no lacing. The aroma is strong on the malt characters. There is a light caramel and dark fruit character, but I like how the malt is pretty dominant here. The flavor is more yeasty and typical of a Belgian. There is some decent maltiness throughout the flavor as well. The mouth feel is a bit thin, and there aren’t many overwhelmingly great notes. The carbonation is light, and the aftertaste is also pretty light

Draft at renos. Nice murky cranberry color. Does not taste like its aroma at all. Fruity Belgian flavor. Not bad.

On tap at the Laundry, Fenton,MI...pours brownish black and the 1st sip is spicy-sweet without being cloying. Has a depth of flavor grounded in malty chocolate with dry fruit. Surprisingly drinkable for a big chocolaty Belgian, this beer will instill the deadly sin of Envy in all monks that drink it.

Tap. Dark brown-black. Lingering, small layer of head. Boozey, bourbon-esque nose. Tastes strongly of booze, raisin, some fig.

Torn on this. It is a hybrid of a belgian strong ale. Lots of malt but a sour aftertaste. A good beer, but definitely different.

An aroma of charred malt, raisins, dark chocolate. Appears dark brown, almost black and opaque, thin white head and minor lacing. A taste of sweet brown sugar up front followed by bitter dark chocolate and charred toast; the alcohol has a slight warming burn in this. Palate is fizzy and thick, nice. Overal, very nice.

Pours a very dark coffee brown, with medium head. Aromas of caramel, coffee, toffee. Chocolaty, malty flavor. Nice blend of sweetness and bitterness.

Pours cloudy dark brown, as it warms dark fruit aroma. Medium full mouth feel. Delicous beer, malty, dark rasin, dates.

On draft into a tulip. Thin head that disappeared quickly, dark brown. A bit of a fruity nose. Very thin mouth-feel, especially for the ABV. Hints of fruit and sugar, but, finished a bit dry; like they used a bit too much sugar in the ferment.
