tap at Dash In on March 9 - Pours brown with a lingering light tan head that laces well. There’s a mild aroma of caramel and alcohol. It tastes of caramel and is well hopped too. The citrus hop character becomes more apparent as it warms. It’s medium to full bodied with a lingering bitter finish. This brew has solid, tasty hops though it could stand to be more aromatic.

Draft at Reno's east. Cloudy mahogany with minimal head. Dark fruit and sugar aromas. More bitter malt flavors and odd finish.

On tap at Greenbush brewpub. Hazy caramel brown with a slowly dissipating tan head and a sheet of lace. Aroma of tannins, caramel, some dark fruit and alcohol. Taste is mildly sour with tannins, prunes, plenty of malt and a semi-sweet and hot finish.

enjoyed this even though we were wondering if the snow would ever *start* and when it was going to get *cold*. on tap @ 3f, where the high today was 53.8 °F.

Tap: Brown hue with golden highlights, okay head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of big dark fruits, candi sugar, caramel, Munich malts with a touch of tobacco and leathery esters. There is very little hop character on the nose of this brew. The taste has a nice twangy dark fruit and lush malts character that is slightly Uname with some acidic, spice and salty undertones. An earthy bitter finish that tries hard to combat the sweetness. The mouth feel is oh so smooth and slick, dangerously drinkable This is very nice and I love the malt combination . If it was not a tad overly sweet after half a pint I would have rated in near 4.

12oz Bottle. Thanks for sharing, Sean! A rather odd aroma, mingling sweat and dark fruit. There’s the slighest bit of styrofoam in the flavor that hints either at a slight infection or a bit of fusels. Bitterness comes next and then a lot of alcohol. There are some slightly biting melanoidins and dark caramel notes. Overall, though, I’m a little bummed, I was looking for a nice malty interplay between an old ale grist bill and the dates, but things got a little messy.
