Cask conditioned at The Old Tom, Oxford. Very dark brown with ruby hue and cream head. There is a rich, dark roasted maltiness right from the off, some chocolatey hints, decent depth and bitterness. A pretty decent G.K beer in a cracking G.K pub, good stuff.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mr_h (1454) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - NOV 27, 2012
Cask by handpump at Chestnuts Hotel, Ayr - clear dark red brown, thin tan head, good lacing, sweet roasted malty and chocolate aroma, caramel and chocolate flavour, bit of earthy, oily feel, fairly sweet
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Leighton (6989) - London, ENGLAND - NOV 16, 2012
Cask at the Cleveland Arms, London. Pours red-brown with a creamy, beige head. Burnt malts in the nose, some light coffee, dark leaves. Light sweet flavour, some dark fruits, berries, mild chocolate, light dirt. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, some dirty berries, light ash, faint cocoa, burnt leaves. OK beer.

Cask at the Royal Oak, Winchester. Almost black with a Ribena glow against the light, and a ring of tan head; fruity, chocolate aroma; sharp in the mouth with a soft milk chocolate body; and a dry coffee grouns finish. Rather thin and lacking the expected fruity taste, but otherwise good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2005
Cask conditioned @ Queen Inn, Winchester. Perhaps my favourite Greene King beer (but thats not saying much). Good fruity woody hop aroma. Lightly malty with a full rounded body as a result of the dry hopping. Not bad and seems to mask the GK house character to a high degree.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 DanielBrown (3175) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2004
Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham. (NB: the version I tried was 4.5%) Red/brown, with no head. Smooth, slightly choc, dark ale, perhaps like a Scottish example. Rich, slightly spicy malt flavour. Sweet, but slight pepper. Lovely stuff - so much better than the IPA!
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 SilkTork (4898) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - DEC 9, 2003
Cask @ Dog & Bone, Gillingham. "Dry Hopped for a Fruity Flavour." Is the claim. Well there is a HUGE fruity flavour initially which inevitably reminds me of the good days of Bass, but the blackcurrant flavour begins to taste as fake as Ribenna. There is a deadness about the palate and flavour that could be a result of being too long in the cask, or just a feature of poor brewing. It's a dark bitter colour with froth on top. Acceptable, but after the initial hit, not that great.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ungstrup (26268) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 9, 2003
Cask conditioned: A nutbrown beer with no head (cask). The aroma is pretty sweet with fruit notes. The flavor is very sweet of a good maltblend and with a really good hoppy bitterness - a great balanced beer.
