UPDATED: FEB 26, 2006 I expected more from this beer. I had wanted to try it in bottle for a long time. IT was nice, sometimes a little sweet, and strong, but really not interesting.

Casked. Amber/copper coloured, small white head. Aroma is honey, fruits and hops. Flavour of honey, hops and some oaky hints. Pleasant smooth cask.

Copper orange brew with foamy white head, nice lacing. Caramel, fruit & piney hop aroma. Bitter flavor, hops, a bit chewy malt. Finishes well, medium-full bodied.

Deep copper mahogany pour has a dense, frothy white head. NIce creamy caramel maltiness dominates the aroma with a pleasant mild hop grassiness. Smooth, yet full body has a nice sticky caramel malty sweetness. Well-balanced, earthy, dry malty finish. A very enjoyable bitter.

About as far from the bottled as u get. Appearance and aroma are both welcoming with fresh light malt and light fruity hops coming in. Taste is smooth not as full as expected but again fruity and very easy to drink. A plesent suprise.

harrisoni (11023) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2005
Cask at County Hotel, Ashford. If there are no guest beers on this is the next best beer at this pub. It has some nice toffee apple type flavours and some nice caramel but there really isn’t enough to keep you interested much past the 2nd pint

Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - JUN 15, 2005
On tap at Greencoat Boy, London. Full amber colour, thin, fading head. Aroma of wild hops, flowers and sweet toffees. Clean bitter palate with solid malt background. Not very sophisticated but ideal for a session beer. Not expensive as well.

Generic pint. Slightly sharp and sweet. Toffee of the hard variety and a bitter aftertaste.

Cask, the Cockney pub. Amber with a nice dense head. Primarily sweet-fruity with apples and berries. Finishes gently earthy-bitter. Pleasent.

Cask conditioned at the Robin Hood & Little John, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge (a Greene King pub). Copper coloured, minimal carbonation. Moderate caramel and malt vinegar aroma. Malty flavour, caramel, low bitterness. ABV is well hidden. OKish, but not really exciting. Disappointing held up to my (failing?) memory of the bottled/canned version. The Old Speck’ is a better choice.
