3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 haddonsman (1234) - Derby, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2005 Re-rate, Standing Order (JDW) Derby. Better - bit more body behind it this time, still a mid-balanced beer with rounder malts and a fuler creamy feel to it.
Original rating - 2.1 Cask. Creamy head with good lacing and appealing amber body but watery, nutty yet unrewarding.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - APR 5, 2004
A funny one, this. Some people love the stuff but I can’t see why. A deep amber colour with an aroma of hops and bananas – unfortunately, to me they seem artificial and unnatural. The flavour is, again, bananary and hoppy with some sweet caramelly and toffee malt and a caramelly, banana and bitter finish. I don’t know if it’s just me, but do the hops taste like hop oil to anyone else? And those bananas….. (cask in a pub in Cambridge)

Cask, The Eagle, Cambridge, UK. Much richer than expected. Nicely balanced with some hop presence, unlike some of its cousins. Great golden-orange color and decent aroma. Sweet finish. Quite good.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2004
Cask conditioned. Decent hop aroma, caramel and malt. Sweet toffee overtones against bitter background. Astringent crystal malt flavour. Full body. Quite good apart from the usual Greene King aftertaste.

Cask @ Wetherspoons; Lacking condition and aroma. Pleasant flavour balance with sweetness predominating initially, maltly tastes lingering, and a slight harsh bitterness towards the end.

Amber in colour. Aroma is slightly sweet, with some nits and caramel. Thin body that had some hoppiness but mild. Finishes with a medium bitterness.
