Cask, JDW. Dark amber, thin white head, good lace. Aroma is hay, cardboard, little bit of orange caramel. Taste is... Bitter-like. Watery. Boring.

Cask in London. Amber color, small head, malty aroma and flavor, maybe some caramel as well. I really like ales but this one is not my favorite.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2014 Cask at the Talbot Inn Worcester: Dark amber colour, small white head that lasted. A sweet aroma with hints of malts, and caramel. Taste similar. Not a bad beer from Greene King.

Not as good as it used to be in the 1970’s but still a decent beer. Always had a good malt feel and reasonable hop taste.

Cask at the Unicorn Hotel, Ripon, September 2013. Clear nutty brown with thin head. A little nutty, toffee and a little sweet wine in the nose, bitter, some pecan dryness and perhaps diluted cinnamon syrup in the mouth. Light-to-medium body, smooth and bitter aftertaste. Too wine-like for me.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2014 Really nice ale. Good after taste. Very popular here and I can see why. Would definitely drink again. Slowly going off this one. Was 4.1 now 3.7 as my taste buds developed seemed a little bland to me. Back up to 4.0. Have fallen in love with again !!

Has a fruity undertone, very smooth. Girls like it because of its facile taste ;)

Pleasantly surprised by a lovely pint of this somewhere near Gatwick Airport on a balmy summer evening. Maybe it tasted better due to the weather and the fact that it was my first hand-pulled pint in Britain for six months, but sank a treat. Well above average English bitter, with a satisfying hoppy presence. Greene King is far from my favourite brewery, and this beer is awful in bottles but this really hit the spot.

Cask at JDW, White Lady, Edinburgh. Pours clear copper-brown with a good white head. Inoffensive aromas, toffee malt and nuts. Some bitterness evident eventually. Grassy end of things. Finishes forgettably.
