Cask @ Blue Stoops Chesterfield.
Pleasantly surprised by this light brown ale, considering I think most other Greene King beers are down in the relegation zone. Nice caramel nutty taste with hop flavours in evidence. Some think it ain,t what it used to be and that might be true, but it,s certainly preferable to IPA. A bit strong to have too many at a time but a decent enough beer.

Cask in the Anchor, Cambridge. Ruddy brown colour, white head. Malty strong ale, feels quite alcoholic, fruity, malts, hint of dishwater but much nicer than the lower ABV Greene King rubbish. Booze is a bit in your face. Actually fairly pleasant.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A sweet strong ale with a naked alcohol astringency. A good pint is something special. Not a session bitter, it feels stronger than 5%.
