"Abbot Ale is the culmination of knowledge and skills that have developed over centuries of experience. Brewed longer to a unique recipe using pale, amber and crystal malts, making it a full flavoured, smooth and mature beer. This irresistible ale has masses of fruit characters, a malty richness and superb hop balance."

smell of yeast and hops; amber with a creamy, long-lasting head; disappointing, watery taste

Lovely warm aroma of fruit and toffee, almost Christmas pudding esque. Really good malty hoppy flavour, bit sweeter than I thought but not a complaint, the rich maltiness and toffee sweetness work brilliantly together and finish with a light bitter aftertaste. For me, I can’t find much of a fault with this beer, it’s very drinkable, it’s aroma is beautiful and the taste matches.

Piwo klarowne w kolorze bursztynowym z biala dosc obfita piana. W aromacie karmel, slody i lekki diacetyl. W smaku ziolowo-orzechowy dosc wodnisty z goryczka na niskim poziomie. Karmel i lekkie owoce z wysyceniem na dosc niskim poziomie. Typowy przedstawiciel niezbyt ciekawego gatunku ktory mozna dostac chyba w wiekszosci angielskich pubow.

Wischylini (241) - Grimstad, NORWAY - AUG 19, 2016
Appearance Pours a clear amber, with a tiny white head that disappears quickly.
Aroma The aroma is weak and one-dimensional; mostly musty with some creamy diacetyl, and with hints of toffee, nuts and some dried figs.
Taste Very sweet, with a light bitterness.
Palate Medium-heavy body, light carbonation.
Overall An alright beer, but there’s nothing that really makes it stand out. Nor do I get why the brewery claims it has "masses of fruit characters", when you can clearly tell from the reviews that the flavour is malt-driven.

Aromat: słodki, karmel i toffi, lekko słodowy Wygląd: barwa bursztynowa, klarowne, beżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa piana, opada do cienkiej warstwy, nie zdobi szkła Smak: tutaj o dziwo już bardziej wyraźnie i zdecydowanie bardziej słodowo, karmel wyczuwalny, lekko taninowe, lekko wodniste, goryczka raczej niska, lekko zalegająca Podsumowanie: intrygujący aromat, a poza tym poprawnie

Słodowe, karmelowe, nieco pustawe. W tle delikatne owoce. Goryczka zaznaczona, w typie ziołowym. Wysokie wysycenie.

Weak aromat, caramel, toffee, so common. Nice amber colour, beige head. High carbonation, like lagers. Taste is light sweet, a bit of malt and caramel. Bitterness is medium, pleasant and short. Soft texture. The beer is well-balanced. Some sweetness, some bitterness, these are the things which I’ve expected. A good representative of bitter style.

Butelka. Aromat karmelowy, toffi, diacetyl. W smaku goryczka wręcz żadna. Wysycenie spore.

Piwo barwy bursztynowej, idealnie klarowne, piana obfita, pozostawia ładną koronkę. W aromacie słodowość i lekkie cytrusy.
