I'm not a big fan of this style, but this beer is good: Amber colour, good head; orange, almonds and nuts in the aroma. Th flvour is fruity, with ornage, tangerine and citrus traces. the finish is quite bitter.

14.9 oz. can from Cash Wise in Watford City. Appearance: finger of slightly tan head, very tight, great lacing, light brown, cloudy. Aroma: rich malt, caramel, raisin, prune, notes of chocolate on exhale. Palate: medium-light body, creamy carbonation, oily texture, soft-flat carbonation. Taste: big malt body with some fruitiness coming in after a second, malt turns slightly astringent and hops come in for a mild bitterness at the finish.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2014 Amber colour, good lacing. Aroma of caramel, bisquits, citrus, grass. Medium body. Bittersweet taste. Nice balance. Citrus & grass in ending. Not so impressive as some Greene King beer stil of high standard, too.

Tall can, big thanks to Nova for bringing this back from the UK for me to try... Date on bottom of the can reads 31/jul/15. Clear orangish reddish color. Thin off-white head, with good retention, leaves good dots and bits of lace. Light to medium body, smooth, kind of creamy lighter carbonation, more dry finish, good full mouthfeel. Great biscuit, cookie, creme, mild caramel malt aroma, kind of toasty. Pretty damn nice. This doesn’t seem to be a nitro-can, but it has a nice full feel to it. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, good toastiness. More dry finish, nice balance to the taste. This is a fantastic bitter. Nova was telling me that in England, everyone drinks beer room temp... I insisted on fridging this a bit before we started, but now that’s approaching room, I can see how this would be fine warm. It’s got an impressive balance. Really nice.

500ml bottle poured in a chalice. A: Clear amber color with a small fizzy creamy beige head. Good retention and many lacings left in the glass S: Smells like a classic English Ale: Toffee, caramel malts and citric and earthy hops. Sweet biscuit :). Yeasts can also be felt T: Taste follows the nose. Toffee, caramel malts and fresh hops, basically. Slightly sweet upfront and dry and light bitter end. Overall is a dry and moderate bitter taste. Refreshing M: Very light body and low carbonation. Light bitter aftertaste D: Good drinkability. Good session beer [ BA Review @ 12/28/2010 ]

"fits well within the style...a tasty, nicely balanced beer that is ever so slightly more sweet than hoppy. pretty melow all around, partially from the nitrous. i’d be curious to have a "regular" one..."

Piana szybko opadła do małego kożuszka na powierzchni. W aromacie lewdwo wyczuwalny słód, lekka karmelowość. W smaku goryczka, akurat na poziomie bittera. Nie jest złe, ale też nic nadzwyczajnego.

Bottle from Asda Newburn. Pours dark amber colour. Fruity, hoppy aroma and flavour, hints of a bready undertone. Quite similar to Old Speckled Hen.
