Nitro can version served in an English pint glass. Pours a deep, clear gold, just shy of copper in color. A white pillowy head that slowly thins out, leaving excellent retention behind. Initial aroma of apples at first, followed by butter toffee. Breadiness becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Taste is subtle and balanced, right on point for an English pale ale. Flavor of toasted malts and mild hops are evenly balanced, making for a slightly sweet, barely bitter experience. However, the aroma of apple makes it into the flavor just slightly--making you think of a cider, just for one moment. Mouthfeel is smooth, but not quite as velvety as one might expect given the nitrogen widget. Some carbonation is noticeable. In sum: I rather like this beer. For me, itís an exemplar of the English ale style.

Przeciętne do potęgi, ale smaczne piwo. Jest trochę jabłek i karmelu w aromacie, jest ziołowość chmielu, jest lekka goryczka. Pije się przyjemnie i dość szybko zapomina.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2015 (500ml bottle, Beijing) Appearance: nice, rich reddish amber. Moderate amount of off-white head, not overly visible carbonation. Aroma: Ale, sweetness, malt, wood, coffee, toast. Taste: moderately heavy, tight malt flavor upfront with significant hops and bitterness. Some underlying flavors of coffee/chocolate, smokey barrel. A touch of astringency. Palate: very dry on the finish. A bit flat in the mouth. Feeling lingers a while inside the cheeks. Overall: Nice beer. Tastes like it has more of a kick than 5%. Really notice the dry, hoppy finish. Not over-the-top in richness, so a good drinkerís ale. High point: Very good nose, and the bitterness (if you like bitter beers that donít go too far). Low point: a little bit flat in the mouth. And a tad too soft upfront.
